Odeon Cinemas Group is Europe's largest cinema operator. Through subsidiaries it has over 360 cinemas, with 2900 screens in 14 countries in Europe, 120 cinemas with 960 screens are in the UK. It receives more than 2.2 million guests per week. Odeon Cinemas Group is a wholly owned subsidiary of AMC Theatres. Finnkino Oy is a Finnish film distributor and the biggest cinema chain in Finland. It was established in 1986 as a union of 34 companies working in the film industry. Starplex Cinemas was a Dallas-based American movie theater chain which at one point had 34 locations across the United States. Showbiz Cinemas acquired the Starplex location in Kingwood, Texas, in 2012. Later, Starplex merged with Showplex Cinemas. It was a partnership between Jim and Barrie Loeks and Columbia Pictures Entertainment, Inc., the company that owned Loews Theatres in the 1980s.
