Oddernes
Oddernes is a borough in the city of Kristiansand which lies in the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The borough covers eastern Kristiansand on the east side of the Topdalsfjorden and the Varodd Bridge. The borough includes the former municipalities of Randesund and Tveit. There was a municipality of Oddernes from 1838 until 1965, but its boundaries were very different from those of the present-day borough. Name The borough (originally the parish) is named after the old ''Oddernæs'' farm (Old Norse: ''Otruness''). The first part of the name comes from its location along the Otra river, and ''nes'' means peninsula, so the peninsula along the Otra river. Oddernes (municipality)
Oddernes is a former municipality that was located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1838 until its dissolution in 1964. The administrative centre was the village of Lund on the east side of the river Otra near where Lund Church is located. The former area of the municipality makes up the area just west of the urban town of Kristiansand within the municipality of Kristiansand in Agder county. The old municipality encircled the town of Kristiansand, and it included the villages such as Flekkerøy, Vågsbygd, Slettheia, Lund, Strai, Mosby, and Justvik. Today, the town of Kristiansand has a borough named Oddernes, but it has very different boundaries than the old municipality had. Randesund (municipality)
Randesund is a former municipality that was located in the old Vest-Agder county in Norway. The municipality existed from 1893 until its dissolution in 1965. The administrative centre was the village of Randesund where Randesund Church is located. The municipality was located in the southeastern part of the present-day municipality of Kristiansand, east of the Topdalsfjorden and south of the old municipality of Tveit. Since 1965, the area of Randesund has been the district of Randesund within the city of Kristiansand. Tveit
Tveit is a village and surrounding district in Oddernes borough in the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The Tveit district is located in the northeastern part of Kristiansand, northeast of the Topdalsfjorden along the lower part of the Tovdalselva river. Tveit is the site of the main airport for Southern Norway: Kristiansand Airport, Kjevik. The district was the separate municipality of Tveit from 1838 until it was merged into Kristiansand in 1965. Randesund
Randesund is a village and district within the city of Kristiansand in Agder county, Norway. The district is located within the borough of Oddernes along the southern coastline between the two fjords Kvåsefjorden and Topdalsfjorden and south of the districts of Søm and Hånes.
