Odakyu 20000 Series RSE
The (Resort Super Express) is an electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated between 1991 and March 2012 by the private railway operator Odakyu Electric Railway on '' Asagiri'' limited express services in Japan. Operations Up until 16 March 2012, the 20000 series RSE operated mainly between Odakyu's terminus in Tokyo and JR Central's Numazu Station on the Gotemba Line. On weekends, some trains operated between Shinjuku Station and Hakone-Yumoto Station. Formations The two 7-car sets are formed as follows, with car 1 at the Odawara and Numazu end. Cars 1, 2, 6, and 7 each have one scissors type pantograph. The is Odakyu Electric Railway's name for its limited express luxury tourist services south-west of Tokyo, to mountain resorts such as Hakone and Gotemba (Mount Fuji), and beaches such as Odawara and Enoshima. When the service started in 1957 with the 3000 series SE trainset, it broke the world speed record () for a narrow gauge train. This record gave impetus for the design of the first Shinkansen, the 0 series. The 50th anniversary of the Romancecar's narrow gauge world speed record was celebrated September 28, 2007. The (Multi Super Express) is a Romancecar electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the private railway operator Odakyu Electric Railway in Japan since March 2008. The trains are used on Odakyu through service to the Tokyo Metro Chiyoda Line, and some trains also travel over the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line, making it the first limited express train with reserved seats to operate through a subway line in Tokyo. The is a DC electric multiple unit (EMU) train type operated by the private railway operator Fuji Kyuko (Fujikyu) on limited-stop services on the Fujikyuko Line in Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, since July 2014. Design The three-car train was converted from a former Odakyu 20000 series RSE 7-car "Romancecar" EMU built in 1991, withdrawn in March 2012, and purchased by Fujikyu in November 2013.
