Akim Oda
Akim Oda is a town in the Eastern Region of south Ghana and is the capital of the Birim Central Municipal District and the traditional capital of Akyem Kotoku. In 2013, Akim Oda had a settlement population of 60,604 people. Geography and climate Akim Oda lies in hilly country of south Ghana with rain forest vegetation in the Birim River basin. The climate of Akim Oda is semi-equatorial and wet with significant precipitation during the rainy season from April to June and again from September to November. A dry period is experienced between December to February. During this period temperatures are also significantly colder. Many outdoor and street carnivals are held in the town during this season. Birim Central Municipal District
Birim Central Municipal District is one of the thirty-three districts in Eastern Region, Ghana. Originally created as an ordinary district assembly in 1988 when it was known as the first Birim South District, which it was created from the former Birim District Council, until the western part of the district was split off to create a new Birim South District, with Akim Swedru as its capital town; thus the remaining part has been renamed as Birim Central Municipal District on 29 February 2008, with Akim Oda as its capital town, which it was elevated to municipal district assembly status on that same year. Paa Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Arthur (born William Edmund Davidson Amissah-Arthur) (29 April 1951 – 29 June 2018) was a Ghanaian economist, academic and politician who was the fifth Vice-President of Ghana's 4th Republic, in office from 6 August 2012 until 7 January 2017, under President John Dramani Mahama. Akua Sarpong-Ayisa (born in Mampong) is a Ghanaian entrepreneur. She founded and operates the floral company "Unique Floral" which operates across West Africa.
