Oceanhoarse
Oceanhoarse is a Finnish heavy metal band started in January 2018. Their first full-length album ''The Damage Is Done -Live!'', was released in 2020. The band's music is energetic live-oriented heavy metal with no use of backing tracks or synthesizers. Biography The band was founded by Ben Varon, ex- Amoral guitarist and songwriter, who after ending Amoral at the beginning of 2017, wanted to start a brand new band. Unlike Amoral, Oceanhoarse uses no backgrounds or synthesizers in their music. The emphasis is on live-oriented heavy metal. The other members of the band are the bassist Jyri Helko (For the Imperium, Warmen), singer Tommy Tuovinen (MyGrain) and drummer Oskari Niemi. The band released their debut single, "The Oceanhoarse", on Finnish Radio Rock online radio 17 January 2018, and the video the following d ...

Ben Varon (born 18 November 1983) is a Finnish guitarist. He is known as a member and one of the founders of the Finnish metal band Amoral that was active from 1997 to 2017. In the beginning of 2018, he founded a new heavy metal band, Oceanhoarse. Early life and influences Varon started playing guitar when he was 11–12 years old. He had been begging for an electric guitar for about a year, and finally got a Strat copy as a birthday present from his parents. The first few years went by without much progress: He did take a few lessons to get started, but did not really practice much at all. Varon tells in his bio that it was only later when he understood, that if he wanted to go anywhere with his playing, he should start to work on it. Varon is mostly self-taught, but he has taken some lessons over the years. First, when he got started to learn to tune the guitar and to form a power chord. Then, a few years later when he started actually to practice, he took lessons for a whil ...

Heavy Metal Music
Heavy metal (or simply metal) is a genre of rock music that developed in the late 1960s and early 1970s, largely in the United Kingdom and United States. With roots in blues rock, psychedelic rock and acid rock, heavy metal bands developed a thick, monumental sound characterized by distortion (music), distorted guitars, extended guitar solos, emphatic Beat (music), beats and loudness. In 1968, three of the genre's most famous pioneers – Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath and Deep Purple – were founded. Though they came to attract wide audiences, they were often derided by critics. Several American bands modified heavy metal into more accessible forms during the 1970s: the raw, sleazy sound and shock rock of Alice Cooper and Kiss (band), Kiss; the blues-rooted rock of Aerosmith; and the flashy guitar leads and party rock of Van Halen. During the mid-1970s, Judas Priest helped spur the genre's evolution by discarding much of its blues influence,Walser (1993), p. 6 while Motörhea ...
