Oblivion (Grimes Song)
"Oblivion" is a song by Canadian musician Grimes from her third studio album, ''Visions'' (2012). It was released as a promotional single in 2012 by 4AD. Creation In an April 2012 interview with Jacinda Govind for ''Music Feeds'', Boucher explained that the song is about a violent assault: It made me crazy for a few years. I got really paranoid walking around at night and started feeling really unsafe. The song is more about empowering myself physically amongst a masculine power, and the hate of feeling powerless, making light of masculine physical power, making it jovial and non-threatening. I took a typically violent cultural situation and made it pop and happy. Chandler Levack for '' CBC'' in 2020 and Caz Tran for ''ABC'' in 2022 have reported on Grimes' sexual assault, with Tran writing that "as a survivor of a violent sexual assault, 'Oblivion' was the result of rimes'most determined efforts to turn feelings of fear and paranoia into something light hearted and innocuous". ...

Redshift (group)
Redshift is a British electronic music group, founded in 1996 by Mark Shreeve. Their musical style is rooted in the early to mid 1970s German electronic music era, often described as Berlin School, and transcends the genre using musical originality, multi-instrumentation, and complex harmonic arrangements using analogue sequencing. Their pieces are described as both exciting and haunting in equal measure, expressing strong central themes, and include contrasting atmospheres of rich sonic textures. Redshift music has been played on BBC TV and some listeners have likened certain pieces to film score, neo-industrial, as well as dark ambient. Listeners have commented on the hypnotic quality of the musical compositions. Their sound is largely dependent upon older synthesiser technology, notably instruments such as the Moog 3C which they combine with more recent digital technology. The basic technological philosophy of Redshift is to use analogue synthesis where possible, augmented whe ...

D-Rok
D-Rok was a British hard rock band notable for its Warhammer 40,000-influenced lyrics. At the beginning of the 1990s, Games Workshop began to diversify its activity, including combining its game world with music. As well as collaborating with death metal band Bolt Thrower, whose Warhammer 40,000-themed album '' Realm of Chaos'' was released on Earache Records, Games Workshop set up their own label, Warhammer Records, signing hard-rock acts such as Wraith and D-Rok. In 1991 the band released its only album, ''Oblivion''. The songs have the common theme of the universe in Warhammer 40,000 and the inlay reflected this by including black and white illustrations from Games Workshop's extensive portfolio of paintings next to the lyrics for each song. The cover, which originally appeared as the box art for the original Epic Space Marine tabletop game, was painted by artist Jim Burns, and has subsequently been used on the cover of the Black Library collection of short stories named ...
