Mosaic Fashions hf was the company of several fashion brands. The company has 1,760 stores and concessions in the UK, Europe and the USA, 234 Franchise stores in 44 countries and 93 joint venture stores including 84 concessions in China. History Oasis The Oasis stores started in 1991, and in 1995 Oasis Stores Plc. was floated on the London Stock Exchange. In April 1998 Oasis purchased the Coast stores. In September 2001 the management team of Oasis Stores Plc, acquired the company via Sierra Acquisitions Ltd., supported by PPM Ventures. Sierra Acquisitions Ltd. later became a part of Sierra Holdings Ltd. On 16 April 2020, it was announced that both Oasis and Warehouse had fallen into administration. On 30 April 2020 the administrators announced that they had failed to find a buyer for both stores with the loss of 1,800 jobs. The brand was later bought by Boohoo.com. Aurora Fashions
Aurora Fashions was a holding company of several retail fashion brands, formed in 2009 to purchase a number of businesses from the collapsed Mosaic Fashions. The company operates over 1,250 stores in 38 countries, including franchises, under the Oasis, Warehouse and Coast brands. History In March 2011, the company announced plans to spin-off Karen Millen, which was completed in 2012. Karen Millen was separated from the group to be owned by Aurora's parent Kaupthing Bank. Aurora announced further plans in March 2013 for a wider restructuring. Jón Ásgeir Jóhannesson (born 27 January 1968, in Reykjavík) is an Icelandic convicted criminal and former CEO of Baugur Group. Early career Jón Ásgeir's parents were Jóhannes Jónsson (1940-2013) and Ása Karen Ásgeirsdóttir (1942-), who both worked at the Sláturfélag Suðurlands in Reykjavík. Jón Ásgeir was later to marry Ingibjörg Stefanía (1961-), the daughter of Pálmi Jónsson. Principles (retailer)
Principles was a UK-based fashion retailer founded in 1984. The firm was launched by the Burton Group (now Arcadia Group) as an attempt to capitalise on the new modern trends in fashion; the mid-1980s was the boom era for the yuppie, a new upmarket cultural movement, and power dressing was a key trend: at the time, the Group's ladies' fashion operations (chiefly Dorothy Perkins) were more mainstream and traditional. Principles was the first newly launched chain from the firm since Topman in 1978, with the majority of the company's growth over the years having come from acquisitions. In 1985 a sister brand aimed at upmarket male shoppers, Principles For Men, was launched; this chain was phased out in the late 1990s/early 2000s as part of a scaling-back of the group's less successful operations.
