Oakleigh U18
The Oakleigh Chargers is an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based at Warrawee Park in Oakleigh, Victoria, representing the southeastern suburban area of Melbourne. The Chargers were one of two additional metropolitan clubs introduced to the competition in 1995 as part of a plan by the AFL to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft. In June 2008 the Chargers moved into a new pavilion at Warrawee Park. The chargers are aligned to Collingwood, Richmond & Port Melbourne. NAB League
The NAB League Boys (also referred to as simply the NAB League and formerly known as the TAC Cup) is an under-19 Australian rules football representative competition held in Australia. It is based on geographic regions throughout country Victoria and metropolitan Melbourne with each team representing twelve Victorian regions, while a thirteenth team from Tasmania was reintroduced in 2019. The competition is sponsored by National Australia Bank (NAB), having previously been sponsored by the Transport Accident Commission (TAC) since its inception. The competition is one of the primary sources of recruitment for Australian Football League (AFL) clubs. It provides an opportunity for talented regional players to participate in a high standard competition without having to relocate too far from their place of origin. Andrew Carrazzo
Andrew Carrazzo (born 15 December 1983) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Junior career Carrazzo played junior football with the St Simons Football Club in Rowville and with the Knox Eagles Football Club in Ferntree Gully. Sam Sheldon
Sam Sheldon (born 8 March 1989) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League. Early life Sheldon is of Indigenous Australian heritage and his tribal ancestry can be traced to the Wemba-Wemba. He also grew up in Echuca, where he attended St Joseph's College from year 7 and 8. Robert "Robbie" Gray (born 30 March 1988) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was recruited with the 55th overall selection in the 2006 national draft. Gray is often considered to be amongst Port Adelaide's greatest ever players. David Mackay (born 25 July 1988) is a retired professional Australian rules football player who played for the Adelaide Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). He was drafted by the club at pick 48 in the 2006 National Draft. Todd Goldstein
Todd Goldstein (born 1 July 1988) is an Australian rules footballer playing for the North Melbourne Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Goldstein is a ruckman who wears the number 22, and was drafted from the Oakleigh Chargers with the 37th selection in the 2006 AFL Draft. In 2015 he became the first-ever player to reach 1000 hitouts in a season. He surpassed Aaron Sandilands for the most hitouts in VFL/AFL history in Round 17, 2021. Beau Dowler (born 16 December 1987) is a former Australian rules football player who played with the Hawthorn Football Club in the Australian Football League. He was originally from the Noble Park Football Club and then recruited from the TAC Cup side, Oakleigh Chargers in the U/18 competition. He played for Vic Metro, in the Teal Cup Championships and was named All-Australian. Dowler was selected by Hawthorn with the 6th pick in the 2005 AFL Draft, despite being in a car accident in October 2005 in which he suffered a fractured pelvis. Marc Murphy (born 19 July 1987) is a retired Australian rules footballer who played for the Carlton Football Club in the Australian Football League (AFL). Thomas Roach (born 2 September 1985) is a former Australian rules footballer who played in the Australian Football League (AFL). Roach is the son of former Richmond champion Michael Roach and was drafted to the Richmond Football Club at pick 37 in the 2003 AFL Draft under the father-son rule. He was delisted by Richmond at the end of the 2006 season. Stephen Gilham (born 2 September 1984) is a former professional Australian rules footballer who played for the Port Adelaide Football Club, Hawthorn Football Club and Greater Western Sydney Giants in the Australian Football League (AFL).
