Sam Sheldon
Sam Sheldon (born 8 March 1989) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the Brisbane Lions in the Australian Football League. Early life Sheldon is of Indigenous Australian heritage and his tribal ancestry can be traced to the Wemba-Wemba. He also grew up in Echuca, where he attended St Joseph's College from year 7 and 8. Draft Sheldon was AFL Draft, drafted to the Brisbane Lions in 2006 AFL draft, 2006. He could have opted to be drafted to the Carlton Football Club under the Father-Son Rule. Oakleigh Chargers
The Oakleigh Chargers is an Australian rules football club playing in the NAB League, the top statewide under-18 competition in Victoria, Australia. They are based at Warrawee Park in Oakleigh, Victoria, representing the southeastern suburban area of Melbourne. The Chargers were one of two additional metropolitan clubs introduced to the competition in 1995 as part of a plan by the AFL to replace the traditional club zones with independent junior clubs. This was to help aid in player development and the process of the AFL draft. In June 2008 the Chargers moved into a new pavilion at Warrawee Park. Ken Sheldon
Kenneth John Sheldon (born 31 December 1959) is a former Australian rules footballer in the Victorian Football League. He is the father of the Brisbane Lions' player Sam Sheldon. Carlton career Recruited from Mitiamo, Sheldon, a rover, debuted with the Carlton Football Club in 1977. He wore the Number 5 guernsey. In 1979 he kicked 53 goals and leading Carlton's goalkicking for the year. In the 1979 VFL Grand Final he is remembered for receiving the ball from the sliding Wayne Harmes and kicking the winning goal to give the Blues a premiership win over Collingwood. Sheldon was also a part of the Blues' 1981 and 1982 premiership sides. St Kilda career In 1987, Sheldon moved to the St Kilda Football Club after 132 games and 170 goals with Carlton.
