Bal Gangadhar Tilak (; born Keshav Gangadhar Tilak (pronunciation: Help:IPA/Marathi, [keʃəʋ ɡəŋɡaːd̪ʱəɾ ʈiɭək]); 23 July 1856 – 1 August 1920), endeared as Lokmanya (International Alphabet of Sanskrit Transliteration, IAST: ''Lokmānya''), was an Indian nationalist, teacher, and an independence activist. He was one third of the Lal Bal Pal triumvirate. Tilak was the first leader of the Indian independence movement. The British colonial authorities called him "The father of the Indian unrest". ''Dead Can Dance (1981–1998)'' (2001) is a four-disc box set, containing three CDs of music spanning Dead Can Dance's career and a DVD of their 1994 video release ''Toward the Within''. While most of the tracks are taken from previously released albums, this set also contains a large number of rarities. "Frontier" (Demo) and "The Protagonist" were originally released on the 1987 4AD compilation ''Lonely Is an Eyesore''. It was first performed at the Paris Opera (at the time known as "Académie royale de Musique") on 19 February 1728 and was performed for the last time on 12 March 1728. Claude Vivier ( ; baptised as Claude Roger; 14 April 19487 March 1983) was a Canadian contemporary composer, pianist, poet and ethnomusicologist of Québécois origin. After studying with Karlheinz Stockhausen in Cologne, Vivier became an innovative member of the "German Feedback" movement, a subset of what is now known as spectral music. He was also among the first composers in either Europe or the Americas to integrate elements of Balinese music and gamelan in his compositions, alongside Lou Harrison, John Cage and fellow Québécois Colin McPhee. ''Orion'' is a 1979 orchestral suite by Claude Vivier, inspired by the constellation of the same name. It is among the first compositions in Vivier's catalogue to delve into a unique compositional style he referred to as the ''jeux de couleurs''. A typical performance lasts around thirteen minutes. History In early 1979, Vivier received a joint-commission from the Orchestre symphonique de Montréal (OSM) and the Canada Council for the Arts (CCA), to compose a new work for the orchestra. It was completed in an uncharacteristically short amount of time, with the final manuscript being published on 6 October of the same year. The piece was premiered years later on 14 October 1982, at the Salle Wilfrid-Pelletier in Montreal, Canada, with the OSM under conductor Charles Dutoit.
