Northern Power Systems
Northern Power Systems was a company that designed, manufactured, and sold wind turbines. They also provided engineering development services and technology licenses for energy applications globally. The company was founded in 1974, and grew into a multinational corporation headquartered in Barre, Vermont, with European headquarters in Zurich, Switzerland and a significant presence in the United Kingdom and Italy. The company closed in 2019 when its last business unit was sold to WEG Industries. Northern Power Systems is credited as having been the original company that led to the formation of Northern Reliability, Inc. (NRI) and its entrance into energy storage. Northwinds
''Northwinds'' is the second solo album by former Deep Purple singer David Coverdale, released in March 1978. Background Originally entitled ''North Winds'', the album leans more towards blues-based rock. Coverdale also touched on the genre in his previous album. The original release of ''Northwinds'' contained eight tracks, with two more songs added on recent reissues. Four tracks ("Keep On Giving Me Love", "Queen of Hearts", "Only My Soul", "Breakdown") from this album would later be combined with the tracks from the EP ''Snakebite'' from his band Whitesnake, to form the album ''Snakebite''. A number of other titles, written by Coverdale, were published at the time, which have yet to be released. Northwind (Australian Rules Football Team)
The Canada national Australian rules football team represents Canada in Australian rules football. The men's side is known as the Northwind (french: Vent du Nord) while the women's side is known as the Northern Lights. The national team is selected by AFL Canada the governing body for Australian rules football in Canada. Northwind players are selected from the best Canadian-born players from the club teams across Canada. The team plays in international tournaments, including the Australian Football International Cup and the 49th Parallel Cup. USCGC ''Northwind'' (WAG/WAGB-282) was a , the second United States Coast Guard Cutter of her class to bear the name. She was built to replace which was in Soviet lend-lease service. During her career, ''Northwind'' conducted extensive oceanography, hydrography and cartography studies, as well as icebreaking, during Operation Nanook and Operation Highjump. ''Northwind'' was the last Wind-class icebreaker when she was decommissioned in Wilmington, North Carolina on 20 January 1989 after 44 years of service. Northwind Glacier
Northwind Glacier () is a large Antarctic glacier; one of the major sources of the Fry Glacier, in the Convoy Range, Victoria Land. The glacier drains the west part of Flight Deck Neve and flows north between Elkhorn Ridge and Sunker Nunataks to Fry Glacier.
