North Ridge, Accra
North Ridge is a neighbourhood in the city of Accra, Ghana, bounded to the south by Castle Road. Kanda Highway serves as the district's western boundary, while Independence Avenue/Liberation Avenue is the eastern boundary. The Ring Road separates North Ridge from the northern district of Kanda. The headquarters of the Bureau of National Investigations is located in North Ridge. Originally planned as a neighbourhood for civil servants and businessmen in the colonial era, North Ridge remains one of the better residential neighbourhoods in Accra. The area of North Ridge, West Ridge, and East Ridge is collectively referred to as "The Ridge". This area is populated by several major embassies, including those of Germany and the United Kingdom. In addition, several of Accra's up-market hotels, and several Ghanaian administrative offices are located in this neighborhood. Accra Ghana Temple
The Accra Ghana Temple is the 117th operating temple of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (LDS Church). History The building of the Accra Ghana Temple was announced on February 16, 1998. Years before the temple was announced, LDS Church president Gordon B. Hinckley had promised members in the area they would someday have a temple close by. When the temple was announced Hinckley also told those in attendance that the church had been trying to find a place to build a temple in Ghana for five years. The temple in Accra is the second of three temples built in Africa. The first Mormon missionaries came to Ghana in 1978. Many of the people present at the announcement of the temple had been some of the first converts in Ghana. A site dedication and groundbreaking ceremony was held on November 16, 2001. Russell M. The Bureau of National Investigations (BNI) is the internal intelligence agency of Ghana.The Security and Intelligence Agencies Act (Act 526) 1996, Ghana. The BNI is an integral part of the National Security Council which oversees matters of the counterintelligence and internal security of Ghana. Barnes Road serves as the neighbourhood's western boundary, while the Independence Avenue/Liberation Avenue is the eastern boundary. East Ridge is a neighborhood of Accra, Ghana bounded to the south and East by Sir Charles Quist Street. Independence Avenue serves as the district's western boundary. Castle Road separates East Ridge from the northern neighborhood of Osu. Originally planned as an extension to the historic Victoriaborg neighborhood, East Ridge is being transformed into a commercial and leisure district of Accra with the siting of the National Theatre and Efua Sutherland Children's Park in the neighborhood.
