North Line (Denmark)
Nordbanen is one of six radial S-train lines in Copenhagen. It connects Copenhagen city center with several northern suburbs, and the cities of Hillerød, Birkerød and Allerød Stations Service patterns The weekday service consists of service A which stops at all stations until Holte, and E which runs with limited stops until Holte and then stops at all stations until Hillerød. Bernstorffsvej Station
Bernstorffsvej station is a commuter rail railway station serving the northeastern part of the district of Hellerup in Gentofte Municipality in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen, Denmark. The station is located on the Hillerød branch of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark, served by the E-line between Høje Taastrup station and Holte station while the longer A-line doesn't stop at this station. The station is served every 10th minute in each direction. The station was opened on 15 May 1936, together with the S-train line Hellerup-Holte. It has altered very little since, except for the addition of a lift and a viaduct across Bernstorffsvej, which was rebuilt in 1969. The station is in need of renovation and has been unmanned for many years. Tickets can be purchased from an automat or via SMS/internet. Gribskovbanen
The Gribskov Line or the Gribskov Railway ( da, Gribskovbanen, GDS) is a local passenger railway line in North Zealand north of Copenhagen, Denmark. The line runs north from Hillerød through the Gribskov forest and splits into two branches to the seaside resort towns of Tisvildeleje and Gilleleje. Connecting the wide belt of holiday homes along the northern coast of Zealand with Copenhagen is an important role of the Gribskov Line. The railway is standard gauge and single track. Hillerød station () is a railway station serving the city of Hillerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is the terminus of four railways lines: * An S-train line (Nordbanen) from Copenhagen, operated by DSB * Frederiksværkbanen, operated by Lokaltog * Gribskovbanen, operated by Lokaltog * Lille Nord towards Helsingør, operated by Lokaltog Though there are track connections between the four railways, they are seldom used; each has its own dedicated dead-end platform tracks. Allerød station is a railway station serving the town of Lillerød in Allerød municipality north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located on the Hillerød radial of Copenhagen's S-train network. Originally it was named ''Lillerød'', but the name was changed in 1952 to prevent confusion with nearby Hillerød. The station is served by A trains. Birkerød Station
Birkerød station is the railway station in Birkerød north of Copenhagen, Denmark. It is served by S-trains on the Hillerød radial. The railway station was built in 1864 and the first S-trains were used in 1968. When built, the railroad station was situated a bit outside Birkerød. The reason for this was that it had to be situated on a hill to make it easier to get the trains started again after stopping. But today, Birkerød has grown a lot, so it is now located in the centre of the city. Sorgenfri Station
Sorgenfri station is a station on the Hillerød radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It serves Sorgenfri and the southern part of Virum. It is located at Hummeltoftevej 51 and is named for the nearby Sorgenfri palace. History The station was established in 1936 in connection with the conversion of Nordbanen into an S-train line. The station opened on 15 May 1936. It was then located at present-day Lottenborgvej which was then called Hummeltoftevej and crossed the railway on a bridge. The station was moved to the northwest in connection with the construction of the Lyngby Bypass in 1955. Lyngby Station
Lyngby station is a station on the Hillerød radial of the S-train network in Copenhagen, Denmark. It is located centrally in Kongens Lyngby. With its large bus terminal, situated on the east side of the station, it is an important hub for public transport in the northern suburbs of Copenhagen. The station building contains a shopping arcade with circa 15 stores, including two supermarkets. The station opened in 1863.
