Nishtar Park
The Nishtar Park ( ur, ) (''formerly'' Patel Park) is located at Parsi Colony, off M.A. Jinnah Road in the area of Soldier Bazaar, Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan. Nishtar Park was originally called Patel Park, named after Congress leader Vallabhbhai Patel. It was then renamed after Sardar Abdur Rab Nishtar, one of the main leaders of Pakistan Movement, in 1965. The biggest gathering of Shia Muslims also takes place in Muharram as well as most other religious and political gatherings. During the largest gathering of Shia Muslims in Karachi in the month of Muharram prominent Shia scholars such as Allama Rasheed Turabi and Allama Talib Jauhari used to address the majlis for many years until their death. Nowadays, Allama Syed Shehanshah Hussain Naqvi addresses this great majlis. On 11 April 2006, at least 50 people were killed, and more than 100 injured, when a bomb exploded at Nishtar Park. Soldier Bazaar
Soldier Bazar ( ur, ) is a bazaar and neighborhood in Karachi East district of Karachi, Pakistan. It was previously administered as part of Jamshed Town, which was disbanded in 2011. History Soldier Bazar was constructed in 1857 next to Mazar Roshan Shah run by Muslim committee Muslim Jamaat Soldier Bazaar. Muslim Jamaat Soldier Bazaar donated funds of 3000 gold coins to Muslim league India in 1906, which were collected by Quaid e Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in Karachi. The father of former Prime Minister Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, and the Khan of Kalat, owned bungalows here. G. M. Syed, who spearheaded the Pakistan Movement in Sindh also owned a bungalow here named Hyder Manzil. Rasheed Turabi
Raza Hussain also known as Allama Rasheed Turabi (1908–1973) was an Islamic scholar, religious leader, public speaker, poet and philosopher. He was born on 9th Jamadi-us-Sani 1326, 9 July 1908 in Hyderabad, India. He was the eldest son of Maulvi Sharaf Hussain Khan, a nobleman from Hyderabad. He got his basic Islamic education from his father who taught him till the age of 5. He did matriculation from Hyderabad, Intermediate-high school from Shia College, Lucknow. He was awarded a BA from Osmania University (Hyderabad, India) and MA in Philosophy from University of Allahabad, India. He delivered more than 5,000 religious lectures and speeches over the period of 57 years that he spent out of his 65 years of total life in the service of Ahl al-Bayt. Nishtar Park Bombing
On 11 April 2006, a bombing at Nishtar Park in Karachi, Pakistan resulted in the deaths of at least 49 people and injured around a hundred others. At the time of the blast, a mawlid ceremony to mark the birthday of the Prophet Mohammed organised by the Barelvi Jamaat Ahle Sunnat was taking place, in which tens of thousands of followers were gathered. Among the dead were several Barelvi religious figures, including the senior leadership of the Jamaat Ahle Sunnat and the Sunni Tehreek. Talib Jauhari
Talib Johri (27 August 1929 – 21 June 2020) ( ur, ) was a Pakistani Islamic scholar, poet, historian and philosopher of the Shia Sect of Islam. He is widely renowned as the most prominent Shia scholar, and his sermons were broadcast on PTV Network. Career He was a promoter of Shia Sunni unity in Pakistan. Education Allama Talib Jauhari also studied under Sayyid Abu al-Qasim al-Khoei. He was a student of Muhammad Baqir al-Sadr. Muḥarram ( ar, ٱلْمُحَرَّم) (fully known as Muharram ul Haram) is the first month of the Islamic calendar. It is one of the four sacred months of the year when warfare is forbidden. It is held to be the second holiest month after Ramadan. The tenth day of Muharram is known as Ashura. Better known as part of the Mourning of Muharram, Shi'a Muslims mourn the tragedy of Ḥusayn ibn ʿAlī's family. Shiites mourn the martyrdom of Ḥusayn by abstaining from joyous events. Pakistan Movement
The Pakistan Movement ( ur, , translit=Teḥrīk-e-Pākistān) was a political movement in the first half of the 20th century that aimed for the creation of Pakistan from the Muslim-majority areas of British India. It was connected to the perceived need for self-determination for Muslims under British rule at the time. Muhammad Ali Jinnah, a barrister and politician led this movement after the Lahore Resolution was passed by All-India Muslim League on March 23rd, 1940 and Ashraf Ali Thanwi as a religious scholar supported it. Thanwi's disciples Shabbir Ahmad Usmani and Zafar Ahmad Usmani were key players in religious support for the creation of Pakistan. The Pakistan Movement started originally as the Aligarh Movement, and as a result, the British Indian Muslims began to develop a secular political identity.
