Nina Armagno
Nina Marion Armagno (born March 20, 1966) is a United States Space Force lieutenant general, serving as the director of staff of the United States Space Force. She is the service's first female general officer and the only officer to have commanded both the 30th Space Wing and the 45th Space Wing. Before transferring to the Space Force, she was a major general in the United States Air Force, where she served for over 32 years. Early life and education Armagno was born in 1966 to Anthony and Naida Armagno. A native of Dundee, Illinois, she graduated from Dundee-Crown High School in 1984 where she was the class valedictorian and class president. She grew up in suburban Chicago. Dundee Township, Kane County, Illinois
Dundee Township occupies the square in the Northeast corner of Kane County, Illinois. It includes West and East Dundee, Carpentersville, Sleepy Hollow, Gilberts and portions of Elgin, Barrington Hills, Hoffman Estates, and Algonquin. It is divided by the Fox River. As of the 2010 census, its population was 64,167 and it contained 21,635 housing units. History Dundee Township is named after Dundee, New York, which in turn is named after the city in Scotland. Historically, industry and residential areas straddled the river, with most of the land on the western half of the township devoted to agriculture. Today, the township has become predominantly a suburb of Chicago. The Air Command and Staff College (ACSC) is located at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, Alabama and is the United States Air Force's intermediate-level Professional Military Education (PME) school. Squadron Officer School (SOS), is a 5.5-week-long Professional Military Education (PME) course for U.S. Air Force and Space Force Captains, Department of the Air Force Civilian (DAFC) equivalents and International Officers. It fulfills the U.S. Air Force's requirement for primary developmental education (PDE). SOS is based at Maxwell AFB, Alabama, and the in-residence version of the course is taught there. SOS is an element of the Air University. SOS 2.0 Online was launched in 2017, and takes approximately 6 months to complete based on the required courses.
