Nick Luck
Nicholas Edward Francis Luck (born 28 June 1978) is an English racing broadcaster, who previously presented ''Channel 4 Racing'' on Channel 4. He appeared on Racing UK at its launch in 2004 after 18 months as part of the original Racing Channel team and was a presenter on its inaugural broadcast. He has hosted all major events for the channel including the Derby, Grand National and Cheltenham Festival and presents the weekly programme ''Luck On Sunday''. He is part of the NBC Breeders Cup team and is eight times Horserace Writers' & Photographers' Association Broadcaster of the Year. He is a regular contributor to the ''Evening Standard'', ''Sunday Telegraph'' and ''Horse & Hound'' magazine. On the occasion of Luck's birthday in June 2022 Kenny Rice, his frequent colleague on NBC, commented that ‘if it isn’t a national holiday in the UK, it should be’. ''Channel 4 Racing'' was the name given to the horse racing coverage on the British television stations Channel 4 and More4. History The first transmission of racing on the channel was on 22 March 1984 from Doncaster, as it took over midweek coverage which had previously been on ITV. On 5 October 1985, it took over ITV's Saturday afternoon coverage (previously ''The ITV Seven'') when '' World of Sport'' finished. Burghley Horse Trials
The Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is an annual three-day event held at Burghley House near Stamford, Lincolnshire, England, currently in early September. Land Rover Burghley Horse Trials is classified by the FEI as one of the six leading three-day events in the world (the others being the Badminton Horse Trials, the Kentucky Three-Day Event, the Australian International Three Day Event, the Luhmühlen Horse Trials and the Étoiles de Pau). The Badminton Horse Trials is a eventing, five-day event, one of only six annual Concours Complet International, Concours Complet International (CCI) Five Star events as classified by the International Federation for Equestrian Sports, Fédération Équestre Internationale (FEI). It takes place in April or May each year in the park of Badminton House, the seat of the Duke of Beaufort in South Gloucestershire, England. Olympia Horse Show
The London International Horse Show, formerly the Olympia London International Horse Show, is one of the UK's biggest equestrian competitions. Previously held at Olympia, London, it has been hosted by ExCeL London since 2021. It is best known as the host of the UK legs of the FEI (International Equestrian Federation) World Cup series in dressage, show jumping and driving, however it also has multiple other showjumping classes, as well as fun competitions for example, The Shetland Pony Grand National and the Kennel Club Dog Agility. Each performance will also normally have two international equestrian displays. Some of the sessions are broadcast live by the BBC each year, and all sessions are streamed. Mike Tucker (equestrian)
Michael Edward George Tucker (30 November 1944 – 28 March 2018) was a British equestrian rider, who was better known more as Britain's main equestrian (eventing) commentator. Career He competed in eventing. He was on the board of British Eventing from 1999 to 2005. He worked with the International Federation for Equestrian Sports (FEI). He designed horse eventing courses. In April 2017 Tucker announced that he was retiring from commentating bowing out at the 2017 Badminton Horse Trials. Personal life He lived in Cotswold District at Long Newnton. He was a beef farmer, with Wagyu cattle. He was married to Angela. He took part in the Duke of Beaufort's Hunt. He died suddenly on 28 March 2018 at the age of 73.
