New Era Square
New Era Square is a development project located next to St Mary's Gate roundabout on the Inner Ring Road of Sheffield City Centre, South Yorkshire, England. The development fronts onto the corner of St Mary's Gate and Bramall Lane, home to the grounds of Sheffield United Football Club. The scheme is also close to London Road, which has been long known for its large multi-cultural and Chinese community. The project was developed by New Era Development (UK) Ltd, a private limited company that was registered with Companies House on 11 October 2013. The development has been dubbed "Sheffield's Chinatown" and "Sheffield's very own version of New York's Times Square" by the local media and has drawn the attention of the UK National press. Sheffield Inner Ring Road is a dual-carriageway circling central Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England. Marked up as the A61 all the way around, it was built from the 1960s onwards. The Ring Road connects to the Sheffield Parkway, which itself connects with the M1 motorway. Sheffield United Football Club is a professional football club in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, England, which compete in the . They are nicknamed "the Blades" due to Sheffield's history of cutlery production. The team have played home games at Bramall Lane since their formation. For most of the club's history, United have played in red and white striped shirts with black shorts. Their main rivals are Sheffield Wednesday, with whom they contest the Steel City derby. London Road is a shopping street in Sheffield, England. It leads south from the city centre near Moorfoot, parallel to Bramall Lane, through Sharrow, Highfield, Lowfield and Heeley, before becoming Chesterfield Road in Meersbrook next to The Crown Inn. Near Heeley Bridge was Heeley railway station, opposite the Bridge Inn. The road ended at Toll Bar bridge on the Meers Brook, the former boundary between Yorkshire and Derbyshire. The street is home to a variety of pubs, shops, accommodation, a library and a former cinema which has also served as a Marks and Spencer store and a nightclub known as the "Music Factory" and "Bed", but has now been mostly demolished as part of the redevelopment works to create new retail units' on the ground floor and additional student flats on the upper floors. Buildings And Structures In Sheffield
Buildings and structures in Sheffield have been constructed over a time-span ranging from the 13th century to the present day. The majority of Sheffield's older buildings were built during the Industrial Revolution, with many medieval buildings demolished in the 19th century; some older buildings were lost during the Sheffield Blitz. Sheffield can only lay claim to five Grade I listed buildings, two of which are in the city centre. The oldest structure is Beauchief Abbey, which dates back to the 12th century and is now a ruin.
