New Brunswick Route 122
Route 122 is a mostly East/West provincial highway in the Canadian province of New Brunswick. The road runs from Route 2 and Route 165 intersection in Dow Settlement. The road has a length of approximately 44 kilometres, and services small, otherwise isolated rural communities. In these areas, the highway is often unofficially referred to as "Main Street." The road bypasses several Lakes including Skiff Lake, Mud Lake, Eel River Lake, North Lake and finally Grand Lake before changing to Boundary Road in Orient, Maine at the Canada–United States border. The Highway is known as Canterbury Road between Meductic and Canterbury. It is charged with the maintenance of the provincial highway network and the management of the province's automobile fleet. Route 540 is a long provincial highway located in western New Brunswick, Canada. The highway begins in Graham Corner at a junction with Route 122 and travels north to a terminus at Route 550 in Lindsay. Route description Route 540 begins in Graham Corner, near Eel River Lake, and travels north through rural woodlands in northern York County, passing through the community of Maxwell, and by Belle Lake. The highway continues north, into Carleton County and the community of Kirkland, where the woodlands give way to farmland. Route 630 is a long mostly north–south secondary highway in McAdam Parish, New Brunswick, Canada. The route starts at Route 122 in Lakeland Ridges where it travels south through a sparsely populated area past Carroll Ridge and past several lakes including Amelia Lake, Moose Lake, Sixth Lake, Fifth Lake, East Brook Lake, and Spednic Lake on the Canada/US Border. Grand Lake (New Brunswick)
Grand Lake is a lake located in central New Brunswick, Canada. It is approximately 40 kilometres east of Fredericton; and the province's largest open body of water being a total of 20 kilometers long and 5 kilometres wide. The lake drains through the Jemseg River and the Grand Lake Meadows into the Saint John River. Records indicate that by the early 1600s rand Lakewas inhabited by Maliseet and Mi’kmaq peoples. The traditional word for Grand Lake is "Kchee'quis" meaning Big Lake. Commercial barges of forest products were towed across the lake from a large sawmill in Chipman to a pulp mill in Saint John until the late 1990s.
