Saint Wilgefortis
Wilgefortis ( pt, Vilgeforte) is a female folk saint whose legend arose in the 14th century, and whose distinguishing feature is a large beard. According to the legend of her life, set in Portugal and Galicia, she was a teenage noblewoman who had been promised in marriage by her father to a Moorish king. To thwart the unwanted wedding, she had taken a vow of virginity, and prayed that she would be made repulsive. In answer to her prayers she sprouted a beard, which ended the engagement. In anger, Wilgefortis's father had her crucified. Her name is thought to have derived from the Latin "virgo fortis" ("courageous virgin"). In England her name was Uncumber, and in Dutch Ontkommer (meaning one who avoids something, here specifically other people from suffering). Freising is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in Bavaria, Germany. Following a recent ranking of the German magazine ''Focus-Money'' comparing all German districts it is number one concerning economic growth abilities. It is bounded by (from the north and clockwise) the districts of Kelheim, Landshut, Erding, Munich, Dachau and Pfaffenhofen. The district is located north of the Munich metropolitan area. The Isar and Amper rivers run in parallel from southwest to northeast. North of the rivers there is the Hallertau, a hilly region mainly used for hop growing. The Isar is a river in Tyrol, Austria, and Bavaria, Germany, which is not navigable for watercraft above raft size. Its source is in the Karwendel range of the Alps in Tyrol; it enters Germany near Mittenwald and flows through Bad Tölz, Munich, and Landshut before reaching the Danube near Deggendorf. Munich–Regensburg Railway
The Munich–Regensburg railway is a double track, electrified main line railway, linking Munich Central Station, Munich and Regensburg Central Station, Regensburg in the German state of Bavaria, with a total length of 138.1 km. S1 (Munich)
The S1 is a service on the Munich S-Bahn network. It is operated by DB Regio Bayern. It runs from Munich Airport station and Freising to Neufahrn bei Freising station, where most trains are coupled (and uncoupled in the opposite direction). Trains continue via Feldmoching, Laim, central Munich to Munich East. The service is operated at 20-minute intervals between Munich Airport station and East Munich. Two out of three trains per hour continue from ''Neufahrn bei Freising'' to ''Freising'', so that the headway between trains alternates between 20 and 40 minutes.
