Matheran Hill Railway
The Matheran Hill Railway (MHR) is a narrow-gauge heritage railway in Maharashtra, India, which is administered by the Central Railway. It covers a distance of , cutting a swathe through forest and connecting Neral to Matheran in the Western Ghats. The MHR is on the tentative list of UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Matheran is an automobile-free hill station and a municipal council in the Karjat taluka of the Raigad district located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Murbad is a census town within the administrative division (taluka) of Thane district in the Indian state of Maharashtra. National Highway 4 (NH 4) was a major National Highway before National Highway renumbering in Western and Southern India.
