Neckartailfingen
Neckartailfingen is a municipality in Germany, located approximately south of Stuttgart. It is located on the river Neckar. History Neckartailfingen was first mentioned in 1090 in the Hirsau codex (Codex Hirsaugiensis) as ''Tagelvingen''. Built by order of the Hirsau abbey, the Romanesque Martinskirche was probably completed in the year 1111. In 1536, the place became Evangelical together with the office Nürtingen and received in 1541 the first village school of the former district Nürtingen. In the Thirty Years' War Neckartailfingen was destroyed after the Battle of Nördlingen (1634) by the infamous dragoons of colonel Walter Butler of Roscrea. Only after a few years the fugitive inhabitants returned and slowly re-built their village again. Economy and infrastructure Traffic Neckartailfingen has always been an important transit point. Aichtal
Aichtal () is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is located 18 km south of Stuttgart.It belongs to the Stuttgart Region (until 1992 ''Region Mittlerer Neckar'') and the European Metropolitan Region Stuttgart. The municipality, which was created in 1975 as part of the municipal reform and consists of the three districts Grötzingen, Aich and Neuenhaus, has a population of around 10,000. Esslingen is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the centre of Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from north clockwise) Rems-Murr, Göppingen, Reutlingen, Böblingen and the district-free city Stuttgart. Until 15 October 1964 the district's name was written officially as Landkreis Eßlingen. History The district dates back to the Oberamt Esslingen, which was created when the previously free imperial city of Esslingen am Neckar became part of Württemberg in 1803. Neckar
The Neckar () is a river in Germany, mainly flowing through the southwestern state of Baden-Württemberg, with a short section through Hesse. The Neckar is a major right tributary of the Rhine. Rising in the Schwarzwald-Baar-Kreis near Schwenningen in the ''Schwenninger Moos'' conservation area at a height of above sea level, it passes through Rottweil, Rottenburg am Neckar, Kilchberg, Tübingen, Wernau, Nürtingen, Plochingen, Esslingen, Stuttgart, Ludwigsburg, Marbach, Heilbronn and Heidelberg, before discharging on average of water into the Rhine at Mannheim, at above sea level, making the Neckar its 4th largest tributary, and the 10th largest river in Germany. Lore Wissmann
Lore Wissmann (22 June 1922 – 25 December 2007) was a German operatic soprano. Life Wissmann was born in Neckartailfingen. After studying at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart, Wissmann made her debut in 1942 at the State Opera there, of which she was a member for over thirty years. There, she sang all the important lyrical parts, including ''Minnie'' in ''La fanciulla del West'', ''Liù'' in ''Turandot'', ''Marie'' in ''The Bartered Bride'' as well as Manon in ''Manon Lescaut'' and also took part in numerous premieres and first performances, among others by Hindemith, Stravinsky and Orff. She gave guest performances at all leading opera houses in Europe. At the Bayreuth premiere cast of Parsifal, she sang parts from ''Das Rheingold'' and Eva in '' Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg'' (1956). She was married with the tenor Wolfgang Windgassen (1914-1974). Bernhausen (Filderstadt)
Filderstadt (; Swabian: ''Fildorsdadd'') is a town in the district of Esslingen in Baden-Württemberg in southern Germany. It is located approximately 13 km south of Stuttgart.
