National Writers' Union Of Ukraine
The National Writers' Union of Ukraine ( uk, Національна спілка письменників України) (''НСПУ'') is a voluntary social-creative association of professional writers, poets, prose writers, playwrights, critics, and translators. History The NSPU was founded in 1934 as the Ukrainian SSR Union of Writers, a part of the Union of Soviet Writers, which was established in the same year. In post-communist time, the Writers' Union of Ukraine declared its independence from any Soviet structures (1991). In 1997 the Union split, losing some of its members who created a new organization, the Association of Ukrainian Writers. In 2020, the Union blacklisted publications from countries that politically opposed the "territorial integrity of Ukraine." The list included Russia, Belarus, China, and Armenia. Pavlo Zahrebelnyi
Pavlo Arhypovych Zahrebelnyi ( uk, Павло́ Архи́пович Загребе́льний) or Zagrebelnyi (russian: link=no, Павел Архипович Загребе́льный; 25 August 1924 – 3 February 2009) was a Soviet and Ukrainian novelist. Biography He graduated from secondary school in 1941. That same year, when Germany invaded the Soviet Union, he enlisted the Red Army, participated in the Battle of Kiev, and was severely wounded. After recovering, he was returned to service again and received another serious wound in August 1942. On that occasion, he was captured and was in a Nazi prisoner-of-war camp until February 1945. Upon his release, he worked for the Soviet military mission in West Germany, then served as a journalist at a collective farm. In 1951, he began studying philology at Dnepropetrovsk State University. Larysa Ivanivna Khorolets ( uk, Лариса Іванівна Хоролець; 25 August 1948 – 12 April 2022) was a Ukrainian actress, playwright, cultural manager, politician, and academic teacher. She played at the Ivan Franko National Academic Drama Theater from 1973 to 1990. She served as the Minister of Culture of Ukraine in the Ukrainian SSR from August 1991, and upon Ukraine's independence later that year, serving until 1992. Dmytro Dmytrovych Kremin ( uk, Дмитро Дмитрович Кремінь; 21 August 1953 – 25 May 2019) was a Ukrainian poet, journalist, translator, and scholar. Kremin was one of the awardees of The Taras Shevchenko National Literary Prize in 1999, for the book of poems called ''Pectoral''. Essay

Stepan Vasylovych Protsiuk ( uk, Степа́н Васи́льович Процю́к; born 13 August 1964 in Kuty, Lviv Oblast) is a contemporary Ukrainian novelist, essayist and poet. Biography Stepan Protsiuk was born on 13 August 1964 in small village Kuty in Lviv Oblast of Ukrainian SSR. His parents were school teachers, and his father was a political prisoner who was sentenced for anti-Soviet propaganda before Stepan's birth. Shortly after his birth, Protsiuk's parents moved to Ivano-Frankivsk Oblast. Stepan Protsiuk studied in Vasyl Stefanyk Precarpathian National University and obtained a PhD (Candidate of Sciences) degree in philology in the Institute of Literature of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.
