National Prize For Musical Arts (Chile)
The National Prize for Musical Arts ( es, Premio Nacional de Artes Musicales) was created in Chile in 1992 under Law 19169 as one of the replacements of the National Prize of Art. It is granted "to the person who has distinguished himself by his achievements in the respective area of the arts" (Article 8 of the aforementioned law). It is part of the National Prize of Chile. The prize, which is awarded every two years, consists of a diploma, the sum of 6,576,457 pesos () which is adjusted every year, according to the previous year's consumer price index, and a pension of 20 (approximately US$1,600). Chile, officially the Republic of Chile, is a country in the western part of South America. The enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) (, ) is a commonly used analytical biochemistry assay, first described by Eva Engvall and Peter Perlmann in 1971. The assay uses a solid-phase type of enzyme immunoassay (EIA) to detect the presence of a ligand (commonly a protein) in a liquid sample using antibodies directed against the protein to be measured. ELISA has been used as a diagnostic tool in medicine, plant pathology, and biotechnology, as well as a quality control check in various industries. In the most simple form of an ELISA, antigens from the sample to be tested are attached to a surface. Then, a matching antibody is applied over the surface so it can bind the antigen. This antibody is linked to an enzyme and then any unbound antibodies are removed. In the final step, a substance containing the enzyme's substrate is added. Juan Allende-Blin (born 24 February 1928) is a Chilean composer and academic teacher who lives in Germany. Career Born in Santiago de Chile, Allende-Blin studied first with his uncle, Pedro Humberto Allende, and with , a pupil of Anton Webern. He then studied at the University of Santiago, and with Olivier Messiaen at the Darmstädter Ferienkurse. He was professor of musical analysis at the University of Santiago from 1954 to 1957. In 1957 he moved to Germany and worked from 1962 for the broadcaster Norddeutscher Rundfunk in Hamburg. He has lived as a free-lance composer in Essen, together with the composer and organist Gerd Zacher, until Zacher's death. Jorge León Schidlowsky Gaete (; 21 July 1931 – 10 October 2022) was a Chilean-Israeli composer and painter. He wrote music for orchestra, chamber ensemble, choir, and instruments including the piano, violin, cello, flute, mandolin, guitar, harp, organ. About 65 pieces were written in graphic notation. His compositions have been performed in numerous countries, with orchestra conductors including Aldo Ceccato, Clytus Gottwald, Erhard Karkoschka, Herbert Kegel, Lukas Foss, Zubin Mehta and Hermann Scherchen. Carmen Luisa Letelier Valdés is a Chilean contralto and voice teacher, the winner of the National Prize for Musical Arts in 2010. Biography Carmen Luisa Letelier is the daughter of composer and artist Margarita Valdés Subercaseaux. She and her brother were influenced by their parents to take an interest in music. She studied pedagogy in Spanish at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile, where she graduated as a teacher in 1967. In 1979 she obtained her title of superior interpreter in singing at the Faculty of Arts of the University of Chile. There she was a student of Lila Cerda, , , , and Hernán Wurth. She began her career as a teacher in 1969, at the Pontifical Catholic University's Institute of Music.
