National Museum (Naypyidaw)
The National Museum of Myanmar (Naypyidaw) ( my, အမျိုးသားပြတိုက် (နေပြည်တော်)) is a modern museum located near the Kumudra circle, in Ottarathiri Township, Naypyidaw, Myanmar (Burma). Besides the older National Museum of Myanmar in Yangon, it is the second of the two national museums for Burmese art, history and culture in Myanmar. The construction of the museum was started on 3 June 2010, and the museum was opened on 15 July 2015. - The museum is open from 9:30 am to 4:30 pm, except on Mondays and public holidays. Ottarathiri Township ( my, ဥတ္တရသီရိမြို့နယ်) is one of Naypyidaw Union Territory's eight townships, located south of Mandalay Region in Burma. History Ottarathiri Township formerly part of Mandalay Division. The township was designated as one of the original townships constituting the new capital region of Naypyidaw on 26 March 2006 by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA). 7 village tracts, consisting of 39 villages from Pyinmana Township, and 3 village tracts, consisting of 9 villages from Tatkon Township were separated to form Ottarathiri Township. Beikthano
Beikthano ( my, ဗိဿနိုး, , also known as Panhtwa city), is situated in the irrigated Magway Region, near present-day Taungdwingyi. In the era of the Pyu city-states it was a city of considerable significance, possibly a local capital replacing Sri Ksetra. Today the modest village is noted for its hot springs and archaeological sites. Beikthano, Hanlin, and Sri Ksetra, the ancient cities of the Pyu Kingdom were built on the irrigated fields of the dry zone of the Ayeyawady River basin. They were inscribed by UNESCO on its List of World Heritage Sites in Southeast Asia in May 2014 for their archaeological heritage traced back more than 1,000 years to between 200 BC and 900 AD.
