National Cricket League
The National Cricket League is the oldest domestic first-class cricket competition in Bangladesh. It is contested by teams representing seven of the eight regional divisions of Bangladesh (there is no team from Mymensingh Division) as well as a team from the Dhaka metropolitan area. History and format The National Cricket League was inaugurated in the 1999–2000 season but was not then first-class. Bangladesh became the tenth Full Member of the ICC in 2000 and the league became first-class in the 2000–01 season. Limited-overs and Twenty20 tournaments with the same name have also been played in the past. Since 2011–12 there have been eight teams in the league, which usually runs from October to December. From 2011–12 to 2014–15 each team played each other team once over the course of the season. Dhaka Division Cricket Team
The Dhaka Division cricket team is a Bangladeshi first-class team representing the Dhaka Division, one of the seven administrative regions in Bangladesh. The team competes in the National Cricket League. They play most of their home games at the Dhanmondi Cricket Stadium in Dhaka.The equivalent team in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) is the Dhaka Dynamites. 2001–02 Bangladeshi Cricket Season
The 2001–02 Bangladeshi cricket season featured the inaugural Test series in Bangladesh between Bangladesh and Zimbabwe, followed by a series against Pakistan. 2000–01 Bangladeshi Cricket Season
The 2000–01 Bangladeshi cricket season marked the beginning of first-class domestic competition in Bangladesh, although the country had already staged first-class matches against touring teams in the previous year. The Green Delta National Cricket League was constituted as the first-class championship. The 1999–2000 cricket season in Bangladesh saw the introduction of the National Cricket League, although it did not have first-class status until the 2000–01 season. Internationally, the country hosted tours by the West Indies, England A and Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC). International tours In October 1999, West Indies led by Brian Lara played a single first-class match against the Bangladesh national team, which was drawn. The teams also played a two-match series of Limited Overs Internationals (LOI) which West Indies won 2–0. Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan Ground
There are four cricket grounds at the Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Protisthan national sports institute in Savar, Dhaka. As well as serving the needs of the BKSP's students, the grounds have also staged first-class and List A cricket matches in Bangladeshi domestic competitions since 2000, and several minor international matches. History The No 1 Ground was the first of the four grounds to be developed and was the first to be used for Bangladeshi domestic competitions in 2000. The facilities at the other three grounds have been upgraded in recent years with the help of the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The Sylhet Division cricket team is a Bangladeshi first-class team representing the Sylhet Division, one of the country's seven administrative regions. The team competes in the National Cricket League and was formerly a participant in the now-defunct National Cricket League One-Day. In the short-lived National Cricket League Twenty20 competition, played in the 2009–10 season only, Sylhet adopted the name Sultans of Sylhet and played in their official yellow and blue colours. Rangpur Cricket Garden
Rangpur Cricket Garden is a first-class cricket ground in Rangpur, Bangladesh. It is located on the south side of Rangpur Stadium. The ground fell into neglect in the mid-2000s but has since been rejuvenated. Rangpur Division has played three first-class matches at the ground since 2012, and there have been three other first-class matches in the same period. Beginning in 2012–13, several matches in the annual national under-18 championships have been held there each season, including the final in 2015–16. Shaheed A. H. M. Qamaruzzaman Stadium ( bn, শহীদ এএইচএম কামারুজ্জামান স্টেডিয়াম), also known as Rajshahi Divisional Stadium is a multi-use stadium in Rajshahi, Bangladesh. The stadium is named after AHM Qumaruzzaman, who is one of the four national leader. History It is currently used mostly for cricket matches. The stadium has capacity for 15,000 spectators and was built in 2004. The venue has hosted three group stage matches of 2004 Under-19 Cricket World Cup and four matches of 2010 South Asian Games.
