Emerson is 2.5 miles to the south and Hester is four miles to the east. Marion County, Missouri
Marion County is a county located in the northeastern portion of Missouri. As of the 2010 census, the population was 28,781. Its county seat is Palmyra. Unique from most third-class counties in the state, Marion has two county courthouses, the second located in Hannibal. The county was organized on December 23, 1826 and named for General Francis Marion, the "Swamp Fox," who was from South Carolina and served in the American Revolutionary War. The area was known as the "Two Rivers Country" before organization. Troublesome Creek (Missouri)
Troublesome Creek is a stream in Knox, Lewis and Marion counties in the northeastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. It is a tributary of the South Fabius River. The stream headwaters arise in Knox County adjacent to Missouri Route 15 north of Edina at and it flows to the southeast. It crosses under Missouri Route 6 east of Edina and on to the south of Knox City and enters Lewis County south of La Belle. It crosses Missouri Route 156 northeast of Steffenville and enters Marion County northeast of the community of Nelsonville. It passes south of the community of Naomi and enters the South Fabius south of the community of Hester at . Troublesome Creek was so named on account of its frequent flash floods. Emerson is an unincorporated community in northwest Marion County, in the U.S. state of Missouri. The community is located on Missouri Route M approximately ten miles northwest of Palmyra, on a ridge north of the South Fabius River. There are no businesses there, or services excepting two churches and a river access ramp; but there are numerous homes. Naomi (biblical Figure)
Naomi (Classically , colloquially ; ) is Ruth's mother-in-law in the Hebrew Bible in the Book of Ruth. The etymology of her name is not certain, but it is possible that it means "good, pleasant, lovely, winsome." Biblical narrative Naomi is married to a man named Elimelech. A famine causes them to move with their two sons, from their home in Judea to Moab. While there Elimelech dies, as well as his sons who had gotten married in the meantime. Near destitute, Naomi returns to Bethlehem with one daughter-in-law, Ruth, whom she could not dissuade from accompanying her. Her other daughter-in-law, Orpah, remains in Moab.
