Nancy Murdoch
Nancy Smith (born Nancy Murdoch; 17 October 1969) is a Scottish curling coach from Stewarton, Scotland. Murdoch is a former Scottish champion and former world championship semi finalist. Murdoch is now retired from competing herself and now coaches. Early life Nancy Murdoch was born on 17 October 1969 in Dumfries, Scotland. Curling
Curling is a sport in which players slide stones on a sheet of ice toward a target area which is segmented into four concentric circles. It is related to bowls, boules, and shuffleboard. Two teams, each with four players, take turns sliding heavy, polished granite stones, also called ''rocks'', across the ice ''curling sheet'' toward the ''house'', a circular target marked on the ice. Each team has eight stones, with each player throwing two. The purpose is to accumulate the highest score for a ''game''; points are scored for the stones resting closest to the centre of the house at the conclusion of each ''end'', which is completed when both teams have thrown all of their stones once. David Murdoch
David Matthew Murdoch (born 17 April 1978) is a retired Scottish curler from Stirling. As the Scotland skip, he and his former team of Ewan MacDonald, Warwick Smith, Euan Byers and Peter Smith are the 2006 and 2009 World Curling Champions. Representing Great Britain, he has been skip at three Winter Olympics, Torino 2006, finishing fourth, Vancouver 2010, finishing fifth and Sochi 2014, where he won an Olympic silver medal. He currently serves as a coach, performance team manager and consultant for British Curling. Sporting career Junior Murdoch is a two time World Junior Curling Champion – in 1995, as an alternate for Tom Brewster, Jr., and in 1996 as a lead for James Dryburgh. Neil Murdoch
Neil Murdoch (born 22 November 1972, in Dumfries) is a Scottish curler from nearby Lockerbie. Murdoch is a former European curling champion. Sporting career Neil Murdoch won the 2003 European Championships, as second for Scotland skip David Murdoch. Neil played third for Scotland skip Craig Wilson at the 1993 (gold medalist) and 1994 World Juniors. He was also a member of Team Europe at the 2004 Continental Cup in Medicine Hat. Curling Canada (formerly the Canadian Curling Association (CCA)) is a sanctioning body for the sport of Curling in Canada.
