Nanaimo Regional Transit
Regional District of Nanaimo Transit System provides both conventional bus service and special needs paratransit services within the Regional District of Nanaimo in British Columbia, Canada. The system, operated by the Regional Transportation Services Department, is jointly funded by BC Transit, the provincial agency responsible for transit services outside Metro Vancouver. Services There are 17 scheduled bus routes in the region. The transit system operates seven days a week, with reduced service on weekends and holidays. All accessible buses are also equipped with bike racks. In rural areas the buses can be flagged down, as there are no designated bus stops. Passengers who are worried about their personal safety at night can ask the driver to drop them off between regular bus stops. Island Highway
The Island Highway is actually a series of highways that follows much of the eastern coastline of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada. While the Island Highway has no officially designated starting point, it is understood to begin at the BC Ferries dock in Port Hardy as Highway 19. The highway continues southbound as Highway 19 until it reaches the northern end of Campbell River, at the intersection of Highway 19 and Highway 19A. At this point, Highway 19A becomes the Island Highway, and runs south through Courtenay, Union Bay, Fanny Bay, and Qualicum Beach until it reaches Parksville (this section of the highway is often referred to as the ''Oceanside Route''). Woodgrove Centre is a shopping centre on Vancouver Island in the harbour city of Nanaimo, British Columbia. Woodgrove Centre features of retail space and is Vancouver Island's largest shopping centre. The centre has over 150 stores, among them are Hudson's Bay, Walmart Canada, Toys "R" Us, Winners, Sport Chek, Save-On-Foods, Chapters and Landmark Cinemas. Departure Bay is a bay in central Nanaimo, British Columbia, on the east coast of Vancouver Island.
