Namibia
Namibia (, ), officially the Republic of Namibia, is a country in Southern Africa. Its western border is the Atlantic Ocean. It shares land borders with Zambia and Angola to the north, Botswana to the east and South Africa to the south and east. Although Kazungula, it does not border Zimbabwe, less than 200 metres (660 feet) of the Botswanan right bank of the Zambezi, Zambezi River separates the two countries. Namibia gained independence from South Africa on 21 March 1990, following the Namibian War of Independence. Its capital and largest city is Windhoek. The Symposium of Episcopal Conferences of Africa and Madagascar or SECAM ( French: Symposium des Conférences Épiscopales d'Afrique et de Madagascar) is an agency of the Catholic Church which includes the bishops of Africa and Madagascar. History The SECAM was born, on the occasion of the Second Vatican Council, to express the will of the African bishops to speak and act together, overcoming the language difference, historical and cultural. The project, submitted to the Congregation for the Evangelization of Peoples, was approved in 1968. The Symposium was convened for the first time during the visit of Pope Paul VI to Uganda in 1969. Bonifatius Haushiku
Bonifatius Haushiku or Hausiku (25 May 1932 – 12 June 2002) was a Namibian Roman Catholic religious leader. Early years Haushiku was born in Sambiu on 25 May 1932. He attended St. Josef's Teacher Training College in Döbra and St. Teresa's Minor Seminary and St. Augustine's Major Seminary in Roma, Lesotho. Career In June 1966, Haushiku was ordained at a priest. On 27 January 1979, Haushiku was ordained a bishop, becoming the first indigenous Roman Catholic bishop in Namibia. He was made titular bishop of Troyna and auxiliary bishop of Windhoek. In November 1980, Haushiku was appointed Vicar Apostolic of Windhoek. In 1986 Haushiku, along with the Lutheran bishop Kleopas Dumeni and the Anglican bishop James Kauluma, challenged a dusk-to-dawn curfew that South African authorities had imposed in Namibia. Windhoek (, , ) is the capital and largest city of Namibia. It is located in central Namibia in the Khomas Highland plateau area, at around above sea level, almost exactly at the country's geographical centre. The population of Windhoek in 2020 was 431,000 which is growing continually due to an influx from all over Namibia. Windhoek is the social, economic, political, and cultural centre of the country. Nearly every Namibian national enterprise, governmental body, educational and cultural institution is headquartered there. The city developed at the site of a permanent hot spring known to the indigenous pastoral communities. Liborius Ndumbukuti Nashenda, O.M.I. (born 4 April 1959 in Oshikuku, Omusati Region) is a Namibian Roman Catholic archbishop. He was ordained a priest on June 25, 1988. On November 5, 1998, he was appointed Auxiliary Bishop of Windhoek, and was ordained on February 7, 1999, as the Titular Bishop of Pertusa.
