Nam Pai Chuan
Shaolin Nam Pai Chuan (; literally "Shaolin North and South Boxing") - also Nam Pai Chuan () for short - is a style of Chinese martial arts. It is a relatively modern style, de jure established in 1978 that has mainly proliferated in the UK and from there, to Belgium, France, New Zealand, Canada, Japan, Australia and Malaysia. History and development This style was brought to Malaysia by Cho-Si (ancestral master) Seh Koh San, who became abbot of the Siong Lim Temple in Singapore, and died in 1960 at the age of 74. When Seh Koh San was young he learned Wuzuquan from Cho Pew; and southern Shaolin Kung Fu (which has been referred to as Fut Gar, Luohanquan, Nanquan, Ng Ying Kungfu). from chief abbot Wei Jing. One of his students was Quek Hen Choon, who is famous for his demonstrations of Ying Qigong. A strike is a directed physical attack with either a part of the human body or with an inanimate object (such as a weapon) intended to cause blunt trauma or penetrating trauma upon an opponent. There are many different varieties of strikes. A strike with the hand closed into a fist is called a punch, a strike with the leg or foot is referred to as a kick and a strike with the head is called a headbutt. The touch of death (or death-point striking) refers to any martial arts technique reputed to kill using seemingly less than lethal force targeted at specific areas of the body. The concept known as ''dim mak'' (), alternatively ' () traces its history to traditional Chinese medicine acupuncture. Tales of its use are often found in the Wuxia genre of Chinese martial arts fiction. Chin Na
Qinna () is the set of joint lock techniques used in the Chinese martial arts to control or lock an opponent's joints or muscles/tendons so they cannot move, thus neutralizing the opponent's fighting ability. ''Qinna Shu'' ( meaning "technique") literally translates as ''lock catch technique''. Some schools simply use the word ''na'' ("hold") to describe the techniques. Qinna features both standing and ground-based grappling techniques. Some Chinese martial arts instructors focus more on their ''qinna'' techniques than others. There are hundreds of different styles of Chinese martial arts, each with their own sets of techniques and ideas. Siong Lim Temple
Siong Lim Temple, also known as ''Lian Shan Shuang Lin Monastery'' (), is a Buddhist monastery located in Toa Payoh, Singapore, next to the Pan Island Expressway. The temple was founded in 1898, but the construction of the premises only began in 1902 by Low Kim Pong and was completed in 1907. The monastery was gazetted as a national monument in 1980 and subsequently underwent a decade-long restoration that began in 1991. The temple now boasts a seven storey gold-topped pagoda which is a replica of the 800-year-old Shanfeng temple pagoda in Fujian. The temple also consist of a columbarium for Qing Ming Festival visit.
