Naeem Wardak
Mohammad Naeem Wardak (ډاکټر محمد نعیم وردک) (born 1985) is the head of the Afghan Embassy in Qatar since 2021 and a spokesman of the Taliban's Political Office since 2020. He also previously served the same office from 2013 to 2015. Early life and education Wardak belongs to Chak District of Wardak Province. He received his early education at a local madrassa in the village of Chak, then enrolled at Nangarhar University in Jalalabad and obtained a BA degree. He then enrolled at the International Islamic University, Islamabad for his master's degree and later did his Ph.D. in Arabic. He also studied for a short time at Darul Uloom Haqqania, Akora Khattak, from where he studied Hadith and Fiqh. Wardak is the first Taliban leader to hold a PhD. Senior leaders of the Afghan Taliban have been stationed in Doha, Qatar, since the early 2010s. The original purpose for being there was to open an office that would facilitate political reconciliation between the Taliban, the government of Afghanistan, the United States and other countries. After the Taliban office building opened in 2013, peace negotiations were suspended following objections by the Afghan government that the office was being presented as the embassy of a government in exile. Suhail Shaheen
Muhammad Suhail Shaheen (Pashto/Dari: , , ) is a Taliban member who is currently the head of the Political Office in Doha. He edited the English-language, state-owned Afghan newspaper '' The Kabul Times'' during the first Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan (1996–2001), before being appointed to Afghanistan's Embassy in Pakistan as a deputy ambassador. The Taliban-led government appointed him as the Permanent Representative of Afghanistan to the United Nations in September 2021, but the UN rejected his appointment to the post. Early life Suhail was born in the Paktia Province of Afghanistan. He was educated in Pakistan, and he is known to be a prolific writer and fluent speaker of English and Urdu in addition to his native Pashto. Bakhtar News Agency is the official state news agency of the Afghan government, based in Kabul. The agency is a major source of news for all media in Afghanistan, gathering domestic and international news and providing information to outlets. The agency provides news in the following languages: English, Dari, Arabic, Russian, Urdu, and Uzbeki. Established in 1939 by the Government Press Department of Afghanistan, it monitors foreign and domestic news before distribution. The English sector of the news distribution was not added until 1992 in order to keep foreign diplomats informed of Afghan news.
