Viktor Gjika
Viktor Gjika (23 June 1937 – 3 March 2009) was an Albanian director, filmmaker and screenwriter. For his distinguished and remarkable contribution to the cinema, he was awarded the highest title as People's Artist (Albania), People's Artist in 1985. He graduated from VKIG Cinematographic Institute of Moscow in Russia. Together with a classmate, presenting their academic degree when graduated, they shot the short film ''Nobody Ever Dies'', based on Ernest Hemingway's story of the same name, which was awarded the First Prize at the Worldwide Cinematographic Institutes Film Festival in the Netherlands in 1961. He created more than 15 movies and over 25 documentary films. He was the general director of Shqiperia e Re National Film Studio in Tirana for almost 10 years in the 1980s, until 1991. Isa Boletini
Isa Boletini (; 15 January 186423 or 24 January 1916) was an Albanian revolutionary commander and politician and rilindas from Kosovo. As a young man, he joined the Albanian nationalist League of Prizren and participated in a battle against Ottoman forces. After this, he was temporarily loyal to the Ottoman sultan and built a power base in the Mitrovica area. He served as the commander of Ottoman palace guards in Istanbul for four years (1902–06), returning with a land grant, officer rank and the command of the local militia. In 1909, he and other Kosovo Albanian chieftains, revolted against the Young Turk imposition of taxes on Muslims. Next, he took an important role in the 1910 revolt against Ottoman rule, the Albanian revolt of 1912, then fought against the Montenegrin and Serbian armies in Kosovo. Hasan bey Prishtina ( tr, Priştineli Hasan Bey, Hasan Bey Priştine and ''Vulçitrnli Hasan Bey''), originally known as Hasan Berisha (27 September 1873 – 13 August 1933), was an Ottoman, later Albanian politician, who served as the 8th Prime Minister of Albania in December 1921. Biography Family and early life In his memoirs Prishtina wrote that his family originated from Poljance in the Drenica region, where his ancestors gave valuable contribution to the Albanian culture and revolts against the Ottoman Empire. He wrote that his grandparent Haxhi Ali Berisha, who moved to Vıçıtırın/Vushtrri in 1871, was the son of Abdullah Ali Berisha. Haxhi's younger son, Ahmet was the father of Hasan. Prishtina said that family's links to the Drenica region were celebrated with songs and other traditions. Luan Qerimi (15 October 1929 – 2 December 2018) was an Albanian actor. He was known for his work in theater, and has performed in plays by William Shakespeare (''Othello'', ''Hamlet'') and Bertold Brecht (''The Resistible Rise of Arturo Ui'') in addition to works by Albanian dramatists such as Kolë Jakova and Ekrem Kryeziu. Jani Minga
Jani Minga (1 August 1872 – 7 May 1947) was a patriot Albanian teacher and a notable follower of the National Renaissance of Albania. He was one of the signatories of Albanian Declaration of Independence. Life Minga was born in Shënpjetër village, today's Fier, Albania, on August 1, 1872. His father Konstandin was an activist for education in Albanian, while his mother Ana was a descendant of Topia family of Berat. He finished the elementary school in Berat, and the high school in Qestorat, having Koto Hoxhi as a teacher. He studied and graduated later for Philology in the University of Athens. Minga knew Old and New Greek, Latin, Italian, and French. After finishing the studies he moved to Vlorë. Agim Shuka (April 1942 – 20 May 1992) was an Albanian film and stage actor. Education After graduating from the Higher Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts), he started working as an actor in the People's Theatre (today the National Theatre) and later as a lecturer at the Higher Institute of Arts (today the Academy of Arts) His first film role was "Dini" in ''Oshtimim në bregdet'' in 1966. Aleksander "Sandër" Prosi (6 January 1920 – 24 March 1985; rup, Sandãr Prosi) was an Albanian film and theater actor and violin player. He was given the People's Artist of Albania award by the Albanian government. He is considered one of the greatest Albanian actors of all times. Life and work Prosi was born in Shkodër, Albania, in January 1920. His family moved to Tirana when he was 14, where he graduated at Qemal Stafa High School. Prosi's father was originally from Moscopole and was an Aromanian, which made him of Aromanian descent too. His first role was in William Tell drama from Schiller.
