Nysse
Transport in Tampere consists of car, bus, light rail and commuter rail services linking the city centre of Tampere, Finland to surrounding residential areas and towns in Pirkanmaa region. The system is managed by the Tampere Regional Transport Authority (Finnish: ''Tampereen seudun joukkoliikenne''), branded as Nysse. The name originates from a local colloquialism ''nysse tulee'' (from ''nyt se tulee'', "now it's coming"), with ''nysse'' jokingly used to refer to any public transport vehicle. Fare zones are in use between areas, assigned letters A-F, each depending on distance from the downtown of Tampere. Tampere Commuter Rail
VR commuter rail ( fi, VR:n lähiliikenne, ) is a Finnish commuter rail system operated by VR – the national railway operator of Finland – under a public service obligation agreement with the Ministry of Transport and Communications of Finland. The operations are planned in trilateral co-operation between the ministry, the operator and various regional transport authorities. VR commuter rail consists of seven alphabetically identified services on six different railway lines. Four of these services terminate at Helsinki, thus serving multiple Helsinki commuter rail stations along their routes. The system serves five regions of southern Finland which in total account for approximately half of the entire population of the country. Tampere Central Station
Tampere Central Station is a Functionalism (architecture), functionalist building in Tampere, Finland, designed by Eero Seppälä and Otto Flodin, completed in 1936. The station is one of the most important railway stations in Finland. In 2015, the Tampere Central Station was the second busiest railway station in Finland in terms of numbers of passengers, after the Helsinki Central Station. The 36-metre clock tower was later added because the Finnish railway bureau required it (its total height from ground level is about 50 metres). The city's main street Hämeenkatu begins at the railway station, continuing over the Hämeensilta bridge to its western end at the Aleksanteri Church. Nokia Railway Station
The Nokia railway station is located in the town of Nokia, Finland, on the track between Tampere and Pori. The station was completed in 1895, and trains between Tampere and Pori stop there twelve times a day, half of which in each direction. Ylöjärvi () is a town and a municipality in the Pirkanmaa region, northwest of Tampere and north of the capital city Helsinki in Finland. Hervanta
Hervanta is a large suburb, or satellite city, of Tampere in Finland, located next to Hallila some 10 km south of the city centre. Home to a population of over 26,000, Hervanta is best known for its prefabricated blocks of flats. The total number of apartments is about 11,000. Nearly a fifth of the inhabitants (some 4,500 people) are students, many of them enrolled at the Tampere University of Technology (TUT) or the Police College. The largest student housing complex is Mikontalo, in fact nearly 3% of people in Hervanta reside there.
