Uusimaa
Uusimaa (; sv, Nyland, ; both lit. 'new land') is a region of Finland. It borders the regions of Southwest Finland, Tavastia Proper (Kanta-Häme), Päijänne Tavastia (Päijät-Häme), and Kymenlaakso. Finland's capital and largest city, Helsinki, along with the surrounding Greater Helsinki area, are both contained in the region, and Uusimaa is Finland's most populous region. The population of Uusimaa is 1,723,000. While predominantly Finnish-speaking, Uusimaa has the highest total number of native speakers of Swedish in Finland even at a much lower share than two other regions. Bjørn Arne Nyland (born 8 October 1962) is a Norwegian speed skater. He was born in Lillestrøm, and represented the clubs SK Ceres and Aktiv SK. He competed at the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo. He won a bronze medal at the 1983 European allround speed skating championships. In 1987 he became norwegian national allround speed skating champion at Hamar stadion, Hamar. Nyland Brigade
The Nyland Brigade, officially Nylands Brigad (NylBr) in Swedish, fi, Uudenmaan Prikaati (UudPr), is a brigade-level marine-type unit of the Finnish Navy stationed in Dragsvik in Raseborg in the province of Uusimaa. The Brigade trains Coastal Jaegers and other troops for combat in coastal environments. Ørjan Håskjold Nyland (born 10 September 1990) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a goalkeeper for Bundesliga club RB Leipzig and the Norway national team. He has previously played for Hødd and was the man of the match in the 2012 Norwegian Football Cup Final. Nyland joined the defending Tippeligaen champions Molde ahead of the 2013 season. He signed for Aston Villa in August 2018, and stayed with the club until his contract was terminated in 2020. Margaret Jean Nyland (1942) is an Australian lawyer, who was a judge of the District Court of South Australia from 1987 until 1993 when she was appointed to the Supreme Court of South Australia. Nyland retired in 2012. Early life and education Nyland was born in 1942, Adelaide, South Australia. Her mother was an egg wiper, later becoming a tent, sail and flag maker. Her father, John Johnson (Jack) Nyland was a boilermaker then taxi driver, later becoming the State Secretary of the Transport Workers Union (SA). Nyland went to Gilles Street Primary School and the Adelaide Girls High School. Diane Nyland Proctor (20 January 1944 – 6 October 2014) was a Canadian actress, director and choreographer. She is perhaps best known for having portrayed the title role in the 1970-71 CTV television series ''The Trouble with Tracy''.
