Siphelele Leonard Ntshangase (born 11 May 1993) is a South African professional soccer player who plays as a midfielder for the South African national team. Club career Early career Born in Pongola, Ntshangase played for the Brazil Academy in KwaNdengezi, Durban as a young player and had spells with Lamontville Golden Arrows, Thanda Royal Zulu and Mamelodi Sundowns, but was turned down by all three clubs. He joined Black Leopards in 2013. He made his debut for the club in the National First Division on 25 January 2014 in a 2–2 draw at home to Baroka and scored his first league goal for the club on 12 February 2014 in a 2–2 at home to Ubuntu Cape Town. In total, he made 15 appearances for the club over the 2013–14 season, scoring 4. Over the next three seasons, he would make a further 62 league appearances, scoring 11 goals. Luyanda Ntshangase (25 January 1997 – 4 May 2018) was a South African footballer who played in the South African Premier Division for Maritzburg United. Death During a friendly game on 1 March 2018, Ntshangase was struck by lightning, suffering burns to his chest. Despite being taken to hospital and placed in an induced coma, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead on 4 May 2018. Bridget Nompumelelo "Mpume" Ntshangase (died 31 January 2021) was a South African politician who represented the African National Congress (ANC) in the KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Legislature from May 2019 until her death in January 2021. Formerly a local councillor in eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality, she was Chief Whip of the Majority Party in the provincial legislature at the time of her death. Life and career Ntshangase was formerly the Regional Treasurer of the ANC Youth League's eThekwini branch, and she served in the regional executive committee of the ANC Women's League in eThekwini. She was also a longstanding member of the Regional Executive Committee of the mainstream ANC in the region.
