Novafeltria is a ''comune'' (municipality) in the Province of Rimini in the Italian region Emilia-Romagna. Geography The town is located about southeast of Bologna and about south of Rimini. It is the main center of the Montefeltro traditional region. It is located on the Marecchia river. History Until 1941 it was known as Mercatino Marecchia ( rgn, Marcadèn d'la Marecia). The current Town Hall was the 17th century residence of Counts of Segni from Bologna. Montefeltro is a historical and geographical region in Marche, which was historically part of Romagna. It gave its name to the House of Montefeltro, Montefeltro family, who ruled in the area during the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Ivan Graziani (Teramo 6 October 1945 – Novafeltria, 1 January 1997) was an Italian singer-songwriter and guitarist. Biography Graziani was born in Teramo, Abruzzo. His first band was The Serogan, which he formed in 1963 with Giuseppe Canala, Bruno Tartaglia, and Luciano Cordivani. The Marecchia () is a river in eastern Italy. In ancient times it was known as the ''Ariminus'' which was from the Greek ''Aríminos'' (, which is also the ancient name of Rimini). The source of the river is near Monte dei Frati which is east of Pieve Santo Stefano and southwest of Badia Tedalda in the province of Arezzo in Tuscany. It flows northeast into the province of Pesaro and Urbino in the Marche and is the only river that runs through Montefeltro. While flowing through Montefeltro, the river flows through the exclave Santa Sofia Marecchia, which belongs to Badia Tedalda.
