Nova Prata is a municipality in the mountainous Serra Gaúcha region of Rio Grande do Sul, in southern Brazil. It is in the Guapore micro-region of the Nordeste Rio-Grandense meso-region of the state. Geography The city of Nova Prata is situated at about , at an altitude of 820 meters. The municipality occupies an area of 258.864 km² or 259 km². In 2020 the population was estimated to be 27,648. Temperature ranges from a minimum of 14 °C to a maximum of 28 °C with an annual average of 20 °C. Fagundes Varela
Luís Nicolau Fagundes Varela (August 17, 1841 – February 18, 1875) was a Brazilian Romantic poet, adept of the "Ultra-Romanticism" movement. He is patron of the 11th chair of the Brazilian Academy of Letters. Biography Luís Nicolau Fagundes Varela was born in Rio Claro in 1841, to Emiliano Fagundes Varela and Emília de Andrade. He spent most of his childhood at the farm where he was born, later moving to innumerous places, among them the city of Catalão, Goiás, where he met Bernardo Guimarães. Returning to Rio de Janeiro, he lived in Angra dos Reis and Petrópolis, where he concluded his primary and secondary studies. In 1859, he went to São Paulo and, in 1862, he enrolled at the Largo de São Francisco Law School, but abandoned it to dedicate himself to the literature and to the bohemianism. Cittadella ( vec, Sitadeła) is a medieval walled city in the province of Padua, northern Italy, founded in the 13th century as a military outpost of Padua. Nova Bassano
Nova Bassano is a municipality and a city in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, south Brazil. History Nova Bassano was established by Italian immigrants around 1890. Among them was Padre Pedro Antônio Colbachini, a Catholic priest member of the Scalabrini congregation, who is regarded together with his companions as the founder of the town. In those days, the town had been called Bassano in memory of the North Italian town of Bassano del Grappa (Province of Vicenza) from which the immigrant were coming. In 1939, during the Second World War, it was renamed Silva Pais, but in 1947, with the unanimous assent of the population, it was named Nova Bassano in tribute to the first immigrants. Until 1898 the town was part of the municipality (Port.: município) of Lagoa Vermelha. Through successive administrative reforms it formed part of the municipalities of Veranópolis and Nova Prata. André Da Rocha
André da Rocha is a municipality in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. It is surrounded by the municipalities Nova Prata, Protásio Alves, and Guabiju. It was split off from Lagoa Vermelha in 1988, and named in honor of Desembargador Manuel André da Rocha, the first judge of the comarca of Lagoa Vermelha, and active defender of the municipality, which became a Republican redoubt during the Federalist Revolution (1893).
