Nova (Czech TV)
TV Nova is a commercial television station in the Czech Republic. It began broadcasting in February 1994 as the first privately held nationwide Czech TV station. Its first CEO was Vladimír Železný. It quickly achieved the largest market share in the country, and remains in that position . History During the 1990s, Nova produced a number of comedy shows, featuring actors like Jiří Lábus and Oldřich Kaiser. The channel also created its own quiz show. The channel attracted some notoriety for its late-night nude weather reports ("Počasíčko"), in which a female (and later male) presenter would appear naked to present the weather. Czech (; Czech ), historically also Bohemian (; ''lingua Bohemica'' in Latin), is a West Slavic language of the Czech–Slovak group, written in Latin script. Jiří Lábus
Jiří Lábus (born 26 January 1950, in Prague) is a Czech actor. His brother is the Czech architect Ladislav Lábus. In 1973, he graduated from the Academy of Performing Arts in Prague and joined the theatre Studio Ypsilon, where he remains employed to this day. He also appeared several times as guest actor in other theatres ( National Theatre, Theatre Viola, Theatre Ungelt). He performed several roles in both television and film. He gained popularity in Germany for his role of evil wizard Rumburak in the TV series '' Arabela''. In the 1980s, he gave his voice to a stuffed moderator called ''Jů'' in the popular children's TV show ''Studio Kamarád''. ''Nováci'' is a Czech sitcom that ran for two seasons beginning in 1995. The sitcom's main storyline revolves around a Czech family called Nováci. The family hosts an American student of sociology, Jeremy Washington, who eventually purchases a home from a family involved with the Russian mafia. ''Comeback'' is a Czech television sitcom that premiered on TV Nova on 4 September 2008. Synopsis The sitcom revolves around Tomáš Pacovský (Tomáš Matonoha), owner of a music store named U Dvou Akordů (At the Two Chords), and his family. His brother Ozzák ( Martin Dejdar) (the name 'Ozzák' is an allusion to an Ozzy Osbourne fan) is a chronic alcoholic who loves heavy metal music. The majority of jokes and gags are about his alcoholism and his absolute belief in metal music. Ozzák professes this opinion: Music which isn't related (more or less) to metal is trash, and not worth selling, but metal is the real deal, and so it should be given away for free. Ordinace v růžové zahradě 2 (until 2008 Ordinace v růžové zahradě, meaning: ''Doctor's office in the rose garden 2'') is a Czech medical drama and soap opera broadcast from 2005 to 2021 on TV Nova channel and from 2021 on Voyo.cz. The soap opera plot is about a hospital in fictive town of Kamenice located in Hradec Králové District, its employees (like doctors and nurses, or even the patients) and their life stories, families and relationships. Until March 2020, the soap opera was broadcast every Tuesday and Thursday in the prime time. In September 2020, after a long pause due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the broadcast time has changed; every Thursday two episodes have been broadcast, and in 2021, only one episode was broadcast each Thursday.
