"Not Giving Up on Love" is a collaboration between Dutch DJ and record producer Armin van Buuren and English singer Sophie Ellis-Bextor. It was released on 20 August 2010 as the second single from van Buuren's fourth studio album, '' Mirage'', and the fourth single from Ellis-Bextor's fourth studio album, '' Make a Scene''. Background and release The song was written by Australian songwriters Olivia Nervo and Miriam Nervo and Sophie Ellis-Bextor. It premiered on BBC Radio 2's '' The Dermot O'Leary Show'' on 11 July 2010 when it was performed in an acoustic version by Sophie Ellis-Bextor. The extended version debuted on Armin van Buuren's radio show ''A State of Trance'' on 12 August 2010. On 5 December 2010 it was announced that the song entered the 2010 edition of the Q Top 1000 of all time, compiled by listeners of Dutch radio station Q-Music, on number 545. Armin Jozef Jacobus Daniël van Buuren ( , ; born 25 December 1976) is a Dutch DJ and record producer from Leiden, South Holland. Since 2001, he has hosted ''A State of Trance'' (ASOT), a weekly radio show, which is broadcast to nearly 40 million listeners in 84 countries on over 100 FM radio stations. According to the website ''DJs and Festivals'', "the radio show propelled him to stardom and helped cultivate an interest in trance music around the world". Van Buuren has won a number of accolades. Seán Dermot Fintan O'Leary Jr. (born 24 May 1973) is an English broadcaster who currently works for ITV and BBC Radio 2. Sophie Luise Elisabeth Muller (born 31 January 1962) is a British music video director who has directed more than 300 music videos. She won a Grammy Award for Annie Lennox's 1992 ''Diva'' video album, and an MTV Video Music Award for Lennox's song "Why" from the same album. ''Big Fat Gypsy Weddings'' is a British documentary series broadcast on Channel 4, that explored the lives and traditions of several British Traveller families as they prepared to unite one of their members in marriage.
