Nostalchic
''Nostalchic'' is the debut studio album by British record producer Lapalux. It was released via Brainfeeder on 25 March 2013. It peaked at number 27 on the UK Dance Albums Chart. Critical reception At Metacritic, which assigns a weighted average score out of 100 to reviews from mainstream critics, ''Nostalchic'' received an average score of 79% based on 13 reviews, indicating "generally favorable reviews." Lauren Martin of ''Fact (UK magazine), Fact'' said: "Whilst ''Nostalchic'' is Lapalux's most full-bodied work to date, it’s also one of the finer examples of how the recent house-meets-r'n'b explosion can be executed with subtlety and finesse." Jonah Bromwich of ''Pitchfork (website), Pitchfork'' gave the album a 7.4 out of 10, saying, "keeping solidly in line with the Brainfeeder tradition, ''Nostalchic'' is a forward-looking album, warm and comfortable but never obvious." Stuart Howard, better known by his stage name Lapalux (short for "Lap of Luxury"), is an English record producer from Essex. He is known for his experimental use of texture and wonky, off-kilter beats. He has released three LPs to date and has remixed works by Mirrors, The Acid, and Young Thug. Career Prior to producing music under the Lapalux moniker, Stuart released music under the name ‘Rude Mummy Not Daddy’. In 2008, Lapalux released the ''Forest'' EP. His 2011 EP, ''Many Faces Out of Focus'', was released on Pictures Music. In 2012, he released two EPs, ''When You're Gone'' and ''Some Other Time'', on Flying Lotus' Brainfeeder label. Astrid Williamson (born 28 November 1968) is a Scottish musician, composer, and songwriter. Life and music career Growing up in Shetland, she enjoyed playing the piano from an early age and The Shetland Folk Festival provided early experience both of local music tradition and stagecraft.
