Nosotek () is the first Western-invested IT joint venture company in North Korea. Nosotek is known for developing computer games for various platforms, such as iPhone, j2me and Wii. They claimed to have 50+ programmers on the team jointly managed by western and local managers in 2009. Nosotek's main target market is Europe. Nosotek offers clients billing through either a Hong Kong or Chinese company, according to its website, which promises “skills, secrecy, dedication.” History Nosotek was founded in July 2007 by the North Korean General Federation of Science and Technology (GFST) and the foreign entrepreneurs Felix Abt and Volker Eloesser. Pyongyang Racer
''Koryo Tours Pyongyang Racer'' or ''Pyongyang Racer'' is a 2012 racing game developed by Nosotek and published by Koryo Tours. The player drives a Hwiparam II around Pyongyang and visits several of its sights while collecting fuel and avoiding other vehicles. The game was created as an advergame for Koryo Tours, a travel agency organising tours to North Korea, by the outsourcing company Nosotek in collaboration with students from the Kim Chaek University of Technology. As one of North Korea's few video games, ''Pyongyang Racer'' was released by Koryo Tours through its website in December 2012. Reviewers criticised the game's gameplay, graphics, controls, and music. Felix Abt
Felix Abt (born 15 January 1955, Switzerland) is a Swiss business affairs specialist on North Korea and Vietnam. Abt was one of the first foreign entrepreneurs to seek to do business in contemporary North Korea, where he lived between 2002 and 2009, and developing and operating businesses. He co-founded and directed the Pyongyang Business School, where he was involved in capacity building related to business administration for senior executives of North Korean government agencies and enterprises. Abt published a memoir titled ''A Capitalist in North Korea: My Seven Years in the Hermit Kingdom'' in 2014. Koryo Tours is an independent Western travel company based in Beijing, specializing in group and independent tourism to North Korea. Their tours run throughout the year covering budget to exclusive trips. There are packages for staying in the capital Pyongyang with visits to the DMZ at the border with the Republic of Korea. Kim Chaek University of Technology is a university in North Korea, on the banks of the Taedong River in Pyongyang. It is named after General Kim Chaek. The university's programs in nuclear reactors, nuclear electronics, nuclear fuel and nuclear engineering specialize in training researchers and technical personnel. Graduates are reportedly posted to the Yŏngbyŏn Nuclear Research Center or to nuclear facilities in Pakch'ŏn-kun. Tourism in North Korea is tightly controlled by the North Korean government. All tourism is organized by one of several state-owned tourism bureaus, including Korea International Travel Company (KITC), Korean International Sports Travel Company (KISTC), Korean International Taekwondo Tourism Company (KITTC) and Korean International Youth Travel Company (KIYTC). The majority of tourists are Chinese nationals: one 2019 estimate indicated that up to 120,000 Chinese tourists had visited North Korea in the previous year, compared to fewer than 5,000 from Western countries.
