Norway In The Eurovision Song Contest 1982
Norway was represented by Jahn Teigen and Anita Skorgan, with the song "Adieu", at the 1982 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 24 April in Harrogate, England. "Adieu" was chosen as the Norwegian entry at the Melodi Grand Prix on 20 March. This was a second Eurovision appearance for Teigen and a third for Skorgan. Before Eurovision Melodi Grand Prix 1982 The Melodi Grand Prix 1982 was held at the studios of broadcaster NRK in Oslo, hosted by Ivar Dyrhaug. Ten songs took part in the final, with the winner chosen by voting from 11 regional juries. At Eurovision On the night of the final Teigen and Skorgan performed third in the running order, following Luxembourg and preceding the United Kingdom. Clocking in at only 2 minutes 10 seconds, "Adieu" was one of the shortest songs ever in a Eurovision final. Jahn Teigen
Jahn Teigen (27 September 1949 – 24 February 2020) was a Norwegian singer, musician and comedian. He represented Norway in the Eurovision Song Contest three times, in 1978, 1982 and 1983, His given name was Jan; he added the silent H later. From October 2006 until his death in February 2020, he resided in Sweden. Biography Popol Vuh Jahn Teigen was born in Tønsberg. He started his career in the late 1960s when he released a few singles and one album with Enemies. However, his commercial breakthrough did not come until the early 1970s as the lead singer of the 6-member rock band Popol Vuh. They released three successful albums, the first self-titled in 1973. Frank Aleksandersen
Frank Aleksandersen (born 30 May 1953, in Namsos) is a Norwegian singer, drummer and lyricist. For a while, he was the drummer for the jazz-inspired band Vanessa. He is the cousin of the trønderrocker Åge Aleksandersen. As a 17-year-old, he moved to Oslo to become a hairdresser. Album releases Frank appeared on the Venessa album ''City Lips'', which was released in 1975. His first solo album as a singer was ''Tilbake til meg selv'', and was a pop album. Norway has participated in the Eurovision Song Contest 60 times since making its debut in and has only been absent twice since then. In 1970, the country boycotted the contest over disagreements about the voting structure, and in 2002, they were relegated. Kari Bremnes
Kari Bremnes (born 9 December 1956) is a Norwegian singer and songwriter. She got an MA in language, literature, history and theatre studies from the University of Oslo, and worked as a journalist for several years before deciding to dedicate herself to music full-time. Alexandra Naumik (formerly Alexandra Sandøy; 12 August 1949 – 17 September 2013), better known by her stage name Alex, was a Lithuanian-born, Polish-Norwegian rock and pop artist who rose to fame in the late 1970s.
