Miami Northwestern Senior High School is a public four-year high school located in Miami, Florida, United States History Academics Northwestern has long been known for its academic challenges; however, the school has shown an unprecedented turn-around over the last several years. Since the implementation of the Florida School Accountability Report, Northwestern had received a "D" or "F" for the 12 consecutive years between 1998 and 2010, with four "F" grades in the 2001–02, 2002–03, 2006–07, and 2008–09 school years. During that time, Miami Northwestern was labeled one of the 163 "dropout factories" in the state of Florida by a Johns Hopkins University study of retention rates of students from their freshman to senior years. Using data from the 2004, 2005, and 2006 school years, the study found that 59% of entering freshman had dropped out or transferred before their senior year. West Prairie High School, also known as Sciota West Prairie, is a public four-year high school located at 18575 East 800th Street near Sciota, Illinois, a village of McDonough County, Illinois, in the Midwestern United States. It is part of West Prairie Community Unit School District 103, which serves the communities of Blandinsville, Colchester, Fandon, Good Hope, Sciota, and Tennessee; and includes West Prairie Middle School, North Elementary School, and South Elementary School. Northwestern High School (Indiana)
Northwestern High School is a public high school located approximately 4.5 miles northwest of the city limits of Kokomo, Indiana, United States. The building houses grades 9–12 and also functions as the primary athletic building. History Northwestern High School was founded in 1948 as the result of a merge between Clay, Ervin, and Howard High Schools, during a period known as the "Consolidation Boom" when many other schools were also being consolidated. The Clay High School sign still stands outside the main entrance to the school. The school received its name because of its geographic location within Howard County, but the founders of the school also deliberately modeled the school after Northwestern University because of the university's reputation for scholastic excellence. Northwestern High School (Baltimore)
Northwestern High School was a public high school located in Baltimore, Maryland, from 1965 to 2017. When It was built in 1965, it was racially integrated. When plans were announced in 2016 to close the school, alumni and community leaders mounted an ultimately unsuccessful campaign to keep it open. Northwestern High School closed at the end of the 2016–2017 school year, having been merged with Forest Park High School as part of the city school district's "21st Century Schools Building Plan" to consolidate and modernize its schools in response to declining enrollments. Flint Northwestern High School was a high school in Flint, Michigan, United States that served grades nine through twelve. It was part of Flint Community Schools and opened in 1964. Mendon is a city in western Chariton County, Missouri, United States. The population was 163 at the 2020 census. History Mendon was laid out in 1871 by Christopher Shupe. Northwestern High School is a public high school near Springfield, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Northwestern Local Schools district. History The school itself is a 1948 consolidation of North Hampton and Lawrenceville high schools, deriving its name from the northwest portion of Clark County. Accordingly, the school serves the residents of North Hampton and Lawrenceville as well as the villages of Tremont City, Dialton and Upper Fox Hollow, and adjacent rural areas in Pike and German Townships. Northwestern High School is a public high school in West Salem, Ohio. It is the only high school in the Northwestern Local Schools district, which is located in north-west Wayne County, Ohio. Their nickname is the Huskies. History Northwestern was created in 1951 from a merger of the school districts in Chester Township, Congress, and West Salem. The school name came from the district's northwestern location within Wayne County. Chester basketball coach Roy Bates chose the school colors of blue and gray, which were a combination of the basketball uniforms of Chester, which were blue, and Congress, which were gray.
