Badminton
Badminton is a racquet sport played using racquets to hit a shuttlecock across a net. Although it may be played with larger teams, the most common forms of the game are "singles" (with one player per side) and "doubles" (with two players per side). Badminton is often played as a casual outdoor activity in a yard or on a beach; formal games are played on a rectangular indoor court. Points are scored by striking the shuttlecock with the racquet and landing it within the opposing side's half of the court. Each side may only strike the shuttlecock once before it passes over the net. Play ends once the shuttlecock has struck the floor or if a fault has been called by the umpire, service judge, or (in their absence) the opposing side. The shuttlecock is a feathered or (in informal matches) plastic projectile which flies differently from the balls used in many other sports. Rutaparna Panda
Rutaparna Panda (born 7 May 1999) is an Indian badminton player from Odisha. She was selected to be part of the Indian team for the 2018 Asian Games. Here, she and her partner Arathi Sara Sunil were defeated in the round of 32 by the Thai doubles team. In July 2018, she won the women's doubles title at the All-India senior ranking badminton tournament in Bengaluru. She earlier trained at the Gopichand Badminton Academy at Hyderabad and currently trains with her sister and current doubles partner Swetaparna Panda at Cuttack. Tanongsak Saensomboonsuk (;born 13 October 1990) is a Thai badminton player. He won his first career Superseries title by winning the Denmark Open on 23 October 2016, becoming the first Thai to win a men's singles title in a Superseries Premier tournament. Bodin Isara
Bodin Isara (born 12 December 1990) is badminton player and Rattana Bundit University's student from Thailand. He competed for Thailand at the 2012 Summer Olympics with Maneepong Jongjit but was defeated in the quarterfinals by Malaysia's Koo Kien Keat and Tan Boon Heong. In 2013, Isara switched from competing for the national squad to competing for the Granular Club, an independent badminton club in Thailand. Currently his partner is Nipitphon Phuangphuapet. Lee Yong-dae
Lee Yong-dae (Hangul: 이용대; Hanja: 李龍大; ; born 11 September 1988) is a professional badminton player from South Korea who had been successful in both men's and mixed doubles. He reached world number 1 ranking with 4 different partners, Jung Jae-sung, Ko Sung-hyun and Yoo Yeon-seong in men's doubles, and Lee Hyo-jung in mixed doubles. He won a total of 43 Superseries titles, 37 in the men's doubles, the most of any doubles player in one discipline, and 6 in mixed doubles. Kim Ha-na (Hangul: 김하나; or ; born 27 December 1989) is a South Korean badminton player. She was the mixed doubles gold medalist at the 2013 Asian Championships, and was part of the national team that won the Sudirman Cup in 2017. Kim won her first Superseries title at the 2012 India Open in the women's doubles event. She reached a career high of world no. 1 in the mixed doubles in September 2016. Michelle Li (born November 3, 1991) is a Canadian badminton player from Markham, Ontario. Li is the 2014 Commonwealth Games champion and the first Canadian to win an individual gold medal in women's singles badminton at the Commonwealth Games. Premier Badminton League (PBL) is a team badminton league operating in India. Sportz & Live Private Limited (Sportzlive) has the rights to operate and execute the Premier Badminton League. The inaugural season of PBL was held from 2 to 17 January 2016. Delhi Dashers (formerly Delhi Acers) defeated Mumbai Rockets in the final to clinch the title. The second season began on 22 December 2016 and came to end on 14 January 2017 with the Chennai Smashers headed by P. V. Sindhu clinching the title in the finals.
