Chesterville, Ontario
Chesterville is a village in the township of North Dundas, within the United Counties of Stormont, Dundas and Glengarry. It is located north of Morrisburg, west of Cornwall and south-east of Ottawa. The village is situated along the South Nation River. History Early Settlement The land in what would become Dundas County was granted in 1784 to United Empire Loyalists, most of whom had fought with the King's Royal Regiment of New York during the American Revolution. Chesterville's first settlement was located along the South Nation River on Lot 18, Concession 4 of the former Winchester Township. The plot of land was originally granted to Marianne Duncan, the daughter of UE Loyalist Captain Richard Duncan, in 1797. George Hummell purchased the property from Marianne's estate in 1823. National Capital Junior Hockey League
The National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL) is a Junior ice hockey league in Ontario, Canada, sanctioned by the Hockey Eastern Ontario and Hockey Canada. The league is meant to be an interprovincial league between Ontario and Quebec. History From 1968 until 2010, the league was known as the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League. At the start of the 2010-2011 regular season, the league was rebranded under its new name - National Capital Junior Hockey League (NCJHL). In April 2015, the NCJHL accepted the application of the Morrisburg Lions to join the league for starting in the 2015-2016 season. The Lions were one of six teams dropped when the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League re-configured and re-branded as the Central Canada Hockey League Tier 2. The Embrun Panthers are a Canadian junior ice hockey team based in Embrun, Ontario. They play in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. Cumberland Bandits
The Cumberland Bandits are a junior ice hockey team based in Cumberland, Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. They are members of the National Capital Junior Hockey League but were inactive for the 2018–19 season. As of 2021, they have not returned to league play. History In 2008, the ownership of the Casselman Stars of the Eastern Ontario Junior C Hockey League (EOJCHL) and the town of Casselman were awarded a franchise within the Eastern Ontario Junior B Hockey League. The new team became the Casselman Vikings. As a result, they sold their interests in the EOJCHL Casselman Stars to Claude Pothier from Navan. Papineauville Vikings
The Ottawa Valley Lightning are a junior C ice hockey team in the National Capital Junior Hockey League of Hockey Eastern Ontario. As of the 2018–19 season, the team is inactive. History The Maxville Mustangs were founded in 1998. In 2010, the Mustangs were sold to investors in Papineauville, Quebec, and became the Vikings. In 2016, the Vikings won their second consecutive NCJHL championship with a seventh game victory over the Embrun Panthers for the second consecutive year. After the 2016–17 season, the team announced that they were moving to St-André-Avellin, Quebec and play out of that local arena. Clarence Castors
The Clarence Castors are a Canadian Junior ice hockey team from Clarence, Ontario, Canada. They are part of the National Capital Junior Hockey League. The Castors operated from 1987-2017 as the Rockland Nationals in Rockland, Ontario. History The original Nationals were founded in 1973 to replace the Hull Festivals who had just left the Central Junior A Hockey League for the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League. In just three season the Nationals, coached by Bryan Murray, won the league, the Dudley Hewitt Cup as Central Canadian champions, and the Centennial Cup 1976 National Championship. Bytown Royals
Bytown is the former name of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It was founded on September 26, 1826, incorporated as a town on January 1, 1850, and superseded by the incorporation of the City of Ottawa on January 1, 1855. The founding was marked by a sod turning, and a letter from Governor General Dalhousie which authorized Lieutenant Colonel John By to divide up the town into lots. South Grenville Rangers
The Whitewater Kings are a Canadian junior ice hockey team from Cobden, Ontario. The Kings play in the Eastern Ontario Junior Hockey League. Between 2014-15 and the end of the 2019-2020 seasons, the EOJHL and the CCHL set a new agreement in an attempt to create a better player development model.
