Norman Rosemont
Norman Rosemont (December 12, 1924 in Brooklyn, New York – April 22, 2018 in Scottsdale, Arizona) was an Emmy-winning American producer of films, television, and theatre. He worked as a press agent before moving into theatre. He worked as a general manager of Lerner and Loewe, then began producing TV specials. He then produced movies for television. He specialized in adaptations of classic novels. "The great classic authors wrote good stories with strong plots about people you could care for. And filming them at length - usually three hours - you can get most of the plot in." Awards Rosemont won the 1980 Emmy for outstanding children's programme for the TV movie ''The Secret Garden'', first shown in 1987. ''Great Expectations'' is a 1974 film made for television based on the Charles Dickens 1861 novel of the same name. It was directed by Joseph Hardy, with screenwriter Sherman Yellen and music by Maurice Jarre, starring Michael York as Pip, Simon Gipps-Kent as Young Pip and Sarah Miles as Estella. ''Ivanhoe'' is a 1982 British-American made-for-television historical romance film. An adaptation of Sir Walter Scott's 1819 novel of the same name, it stars Anthony Andrews in the title role. The film was directed by Douglas Camfield, with a screenplay written by John Gay. It depicts the noble knight Ivanhoe returning home from the Third Crusade and becoming involved in a power struggle for the throne of England. Brian de Bois-Guilbert is treated more ambiguously than in most versions of the story.
