Norm Schulman
Norm Schulman (October 27, 1924 – October 4, 2014) was an American ceramic artist who lived in Penland, North Carolina. He was born in New York City in 1924. He operated his own studio, Norman Schulman Studio, in Penland. Education He earned his Bachelor of Science in Art from Parsons School of Design, New York in 1950. He then received his BS/Art from School of Education, New York University, New York in 1951. He received his Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Ceramic Design from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University, with a New York Teaching & Research Fellowship, in 1958. Professional career Beginning in 1951 he was a Packaging & Materials Handling Engineer, Wright Aero Division of Curtis-Wright Corporation, Woodbridge, New Jersey and in 1954 he became Supervisor of Packaging Engineering, until 1956. Ceramic Artist
Ceramic art is art made from ceramic materials, including clay. It may take forms including artistic pottery, including tableware, tiles, figurines and other sculpture. As one of the plastic arts, ceramic art is one of the visual arts. The Mint Museum, also referred to as The Mint Museums, is a cultural institution comprising two museums, located in Charlotte, North Carolina.
