Norbert Murphy
Norbert Murphy (born 29 January 1956 in Vaudreuil-Dorion, Quebec) is a Canadians, Canadian Archery, archer. He won a bronze medal at the 2012 Summer Paralympics in the Men's individual compound W1. He is currently 3rd in the world in the Men's Compound W1. His Disability Murphy is in a wheelchair. W1 means athletes compete from a seated position and have an impairment that affects their arms, legs and trunk. Paralympics He competed at the 2000 Summer Paralympics in Sydney, Australia, in the Men's Individual W2. He came 23rd in the ranking round so he did not advance to the 1/16 Final. He also competed at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China in the Archery at the 2008 Summer Paralympics – Men's individual compound#WI, Men's Individual Compound W1. The United States sent a delegation to compete at the 2008 Summer Paralympics in Beijing, China. A total of 213 U.S. competitors took part in 18 sports; the only 2 sports Americans did not compete in were soccer 5-a-side and 7-a-side. The American delegation included 16 former members of the U.S. military, including 3 veterans of the Iraq War. Among them were shot putter Scott Winkler, who was paralyzed in an accident in Iraq, and swimmer Melissa Stockwell, a former United States Army officer who lost her left leg to a roadside bomb in the war. The United States finished third in the gold and overall medal count, behind host nation China and Great Britain. Jeff Fabry (born April 14, 1973, in Hanford, California) is an American amputee and Paralympic archer.
