Hubert Mbuku Nakitare (born 2 October 1982), commonly known by his stage name Nonini, is a Kenyan hip hop recording artiste, entertainer, radio presenter, businessman and philanthropist. He is often referred to as the Godfather because he is very well known. Education Hubert Nakitare, alias Nonini, attended Kawethei Secondary School in Machakos County. Personal life Nonini (Hubert Nakitare) was born in October 1982 in California Estate in the Kamukunji constituency of Nairobi, Kenya. He is of luhya origin. Nonini became a dad to a baby boy in late 2012. Biography Nonini was originally signed to Calif Records, but later joined Homeboyz Productions. He was introduced to the Kenyan urban music scene through his debut single "Nonini ni Nani?" Genge
Genge music, or genge, is a genre of hip hop music with additional influences from dancehall music that has its beginnings in Nairobi, Kenya. The name was coined by the producer Clemo and popularized by Kenyan rappers Jua Cali and Nonini, who started off at Calif Records, and is commonly sung in Sheng ( Swahili and English slang), Swahili or local dialects. The term G''enge'' is a Sheng word for "a group or a mass of people". Origins and characteristics As Kenyan urban music became more and more popular, Kenyan artists and music fans wanted to have a common name for their music, and many names were suggested. Among them were Boomba music, kapuka, and gemba. Around this time, Nonini started a campaign to popularize the term "genge" to refer to Kenyan urban music and also specifically music by artists on Calif Records. Campopleginae is a large subfamily of the parasitoid wasp family Ichneumonidae with a world-wide distribution. Species in this subfamily have been used in the biological control of the alfalfa weevil, clover weevil, various species of ''Heliothis'', oriental army worm, European corn borer, larch sawfly, and others. Description and diversity Campopleginae is one of the most commonly encountered subfamilies of Ichneumonidae and contains 65 genera. Many of the genera are poorly defined and difficult to identify. P-Unit is a Kenyan hip hop group consisting of Kenyan hip hop artists Frasha, Gabu, and Bon-eye. Biography The crew released the album ''Wagenge Hao'' in 2010, recorded at Decimal Media by lead singer/composer "Pradip The BOSS". The album had 17 tracks, most notably "Kare" (stylized "KArE"), "Deepak", "Nikesh" sable "Sandeep" with DNA, "Patra", "Basu", and "Prabhakar", with the last two featuring Nonini. At the 2007 Kisima Music Awards P-Unit won the Boomba Group category. They released the song "Gentleman" with Sauti Sol in late 2011, produced by R-Kay. Nairobi ( ) is the capital and largest city of Kenya. Luhya People
The Luhya (also known as ''Abaluyia'' or Luyia) comprise a number of Bantu ethnic groups native to western Kenya. They are divided into 20 culturally and linguistically related tribes. ''Luhya'' refers to both the 20 Luhya clans and their respective languages collectively called Luhya languages. There are 20 (and by other accounts, 21, when the Suba are included) clans that make up the Luhya. Each has a distinct dialect best on thelocality of the speakers.The different dialects shows maturity of the luhya language. Nyota Ndogo (real name Mwanaisha Abdalla, born c. 1981) is a musician from Kenya who performs taarab-influenced pop music. Ndogo is from the coastal city of Mombasa. She was a school drop-out who worked as a house maid. Joseph Haule (born December 29, 1975), popularly known by his stage name Professor Jay, is a Tanzanian rapper, songwriter, politician and former member of the Tanzanian parliament for Mikumi constituency. Paul Julius Nunda (born 12 September 1979), better known by his stage name Jua Cali, is a Kenyan hip hop artist. In 2000, together with record producer Clemo, he founded Calif Records where he has been ever since. Jua Cali performs in Swahili and Sheng in a popular Kenyan style of rapping called genge.
