Nomakhosazana Meth is a South African politician who is Minister of Employment and Labour. She has been a Member of the National Assembly of South Africa since 2024, representing the African National Congress. Prior to serving in parliament, Meth was an ANC representative in the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature and held posts in the province's Executive Council. She was also previously both the speaker and mayor of the OR Tambo District Municipality and the speaker of the Mbizana Local Municipality. Early life and education Meth was born in Ntabankulu. Her birthday is December 20. She obtained certificates in local government law from both the University of Fort Hare and the University of Zululand. Winnie Madikizela-Mandela Local Municipality (formerly Mbizana Local Municipality) is a local municipality in Alfred Nzo District Municipality in the Wild Coast Region of the Eastern Cape Province in South Africa. The name ''Mbizana'' means "little casserole" or "sauce pan" in isiXhosa. It was formerly part of the OR Tambo District Municipality, but was transferred to the Alfred Nzo District Municipality after the 2011 municipal election. Mthatha
Mthatha , formerly Umtata, is the main city of the King Sabata Dalindyebo Local Municipality in Eastern Cape province of South Africa and the capital of OR Tambo District Municipality. The city has an airport, previously known as the K. D. Matanzima Airport after former leader Kaiser Matanzima. Mthatha derives its name from the nearby Mthatha River which was named after the sneezewood (umtati) trees, famous for their wood and medicinal properties. 2024 South African General Election
General elections will be held in South Africa in 2024 to elect a new National Assembly as well as the provincial legislature in each province. These will be the seventh elections held under the conditions of universal adult suffrage since the end of the apartheid era in 1994. The National Assembly is the directly elected house of the Parliament of South Africa, located in Cape Town, Western Cape. 2019 Eastern Cape Provincial Election
The 2019 Eastern Cape provincial election was held on 8 May 2019, concurrently with the 2019 South African general election, to elect the 63 members of the Eastern Cape Provincial Legislature.
